Broad Selection
I liked being able to read about many different tutors in one spot. It made selecting one easier. I was able to email back and forth with the different tutors prior to signing up, and I really liked that as well. I didn't actually have to pay anything until I had chosen a particular tutor and we had agreed on terms, location, etc. The quality and experience of the tutors varies greatly. I ended up selecting someone who is a retired school principal and has a masters in the field in which my son needs help. I am very satisfied.
Great Tutor Search and Selection Site
WyzAnt is terrific. It's easy to navigate and you can choose from many different tutors to meet your child's needs. My son, who hated math at school, now says he wishes he could see his tutor every day! She's wonderful!

We are so happy we found Cindy!!! I was so tired of paying people who were not really helping my children, some of the tutors I had would act so unprofessional and like they didn't want to be here. Great & Encouraging Experience
Our daughter is 10 years old, and will be entering 5th grade this school year. She did not grasp what she needed to in math while in 4th grade, therefore we felt she needed some extra help before moving forward. We contacted WyzAnt online, and quickly located a local tutor that we felt would be compatible & helpful with our daughter. We certainly made the correct choice! The tutor has been professional, patient, encouraging, & an excellent teacher. Our daughter really looks forward to, & enjoys the sessions. She is learning!!! Many Tutors To Choose From
When I searched in my area and then sorted by highest reviews, I could pick the writing tutor that looked like the best fit for my teenage son. He needs help with writing strategy, so I found a tutor whose education was a good match. It turned out to be a great decision. The billing is easy and my son is building his confidence this summer with the help of an excellent tutor.

Great success finding tutor during summer travel!
Through WyzAnt I was able to find a tutor for my youngest child in the location of a three week sports tournament in which my older children participated. It is a struggle to meet the needs of all the members of a family. This could never been accomplished without the broad network of WyzAnt.
Much easier and better than I expected
I had heard of WyzAnt before and had a general idea of the services they provided, but when I really checked them out I was very impressed. The process of researching and finding a tutor in my area was simple and quick! My email inquiry was answered within minutes and from that first step everything went very smoothly. I had control of when and where to meet, and didn't have to make a commitment up front. It was easy to decide to work with the tutor, however. She was a perfect fit for my son who was struggling with algebra. He has had 3 lessons with her now, and is beginning to look forward to his math sessions. He shows much more enthusiasm in understanding math and making great progress. After seeing his progress, I called customer service to take advantage of the discounts they offer for purchasing blocks of credit. A very helpful person answered right away and took care of it for me immediately. I have loved everything about WyzAnt since I took that first step.

Excellent And Speedy Response To My General Tutor Questions
I read several profiles of the tutors and found a handful who looked perfect for my needs (solid concentration on SAT math prep and price). Jon M. has been a great choice. He is very thorough with my son and loves what he does!
Perfect fit
My son is 19 years old with ADD and specific learning disabled. The tutor I found though WyzAnt has been a great fit. They work together very well and he states he is finally understanding the math concepts being taught.
Great Tutor Search and Selection
We were impressed with how quickly we got a response and were able to obtain tutors in 2 locations (as we needed one while we were on vacation). They were both knowledgeable in their subject and helpful. We would recommend the service to anyone trying it. Our second tutor really helped out daughter to get on track for a very intensive biology course online in the summer. She helped her with her pacing of studying and doing labs. She also made some suggestions for studying skills and ways of attacking the information.
Great Tool!
School district policies are to provide tutor lists, but not provide any recommendations or ratings on their tutors. Consequently, I came very close a couple times to hiring tutors that would have been terrible for us. Luckily my kids knew of those teachers and were able to give me a big thumbs down. I love the ratings and feedback on all the tutors on WyzAnt, as well as the introductions from the tutors themselves. This helped us find tutors that are a good fit for our family, and that others have rated highly.

Super simple with great results
I was looking for a geometry tutor (high school level) for my daughter and came across WyzAnt on the internet. After posting my inquiry, within 24 hours I received six responses in my area. All of which were qualified tutors. After a few emails I narrowed down my search and scheduled with a tutor. It was a perfect match. Quick and easy to maneuver site!
I was looking for someone to assist my niece, who is from Germany, with her English. She has had English in her school already, but application process, rules and regulations were minimum. The tutor she has is exactly what she needed. I heard from another person first, but the cost was very high. I didn't know that our request went out to other tutors, but that worked out to our benefit!

This site was easy to use. We were able to find somebody in our area quickly. By reading through the profiles we were able to find someone that we thought had the qualifications that were needed and would interest our student. Great tutor experience!
I have been very pleased with WyzAnt thus far. Our tutor is awesome! She has even contacted my child's teachers to be sure she is reviewing the right concepts with my son. One time when she didn't know how to help my son with a HW problem, she only charged 1/2 price even though she spent her time with him. Easy to Use Resource for Quality Tutor
WyzAnt made it easy to identify and select a tutor that met the needs of my student. Communications were easy to set-up, tracking is done through the WyzAnt website, and updates are received via email. After a successful first tutoring session, we reached out again 8 months later. The history with the tutor was still in my account and we were able to reach out to the same tutor without any problem or delay. This made it comfortable for my student to work with someone he already met and felt was a good fit for his learning style. Processing payment is just as easy and also provides a history on my WyzAnt account. It takes the worry out of selecting a tutor with credentials and background check at a time that the student can be quite stressed and hesitant to work with a stranger. Our tutor has been great, and we will continue to schedule with him to help our student be as successful as possible.
First Time User of Tutorial Service
First I was extremely impressed with the number of tutors available to choose from, looking for website design help. I understand that this is a very popular and common field for many people to have experience in, but I was still impressed with my choices, as there were many qualified people as I read through their bios and some of their recommendations. It was also a breath of fresh air to come to a site and have the prices listed right up front so I did not have to search all day trying to decide if I could afford this venture or not. I sincerely appreciate that more than anything else, and the ease of the entire financial process, including the payments in advance (offering you a discounted price) is wonderful. My tutor has been wonderful to work with; responsive whenever I contact her about getting together, coming the very next day, if not within the half hour (I kid you not). She communicates more than in a timely fashion; I swear she must be sitting at her computer all day long just waiting for me to contact her, and I could go on and on about the results she has produced. I have learned so much about WordPress, HTML, CSS, even how to find the hex code for any color on your computer and put that into my webpage!!! Go me! With that said, I don't need to bore you with the small stuff she taught me. Your customer support staff has been more than wonderful, and I appreciate their positive attitude every time I phone them with whatever tedious question I have for them. Since this is my very first tutoring experience, I have no comparison, but I cannot see any reason to ever have one.

Easy Process to Find a Reliable Tutor

Excellent Teacher!
The teacher I found through WyzAnt is superb. I am so fortunate to have her, as she understands my needs and we are progressing wonderfully. She is professional, an expert at teaching her language, and at the same time relaxed, so I don't get tense when trying to figure out this very difficult language (Russian!). The ease of payment is a blessing, so there is no direct $ dealings with the teacher, and I'm so happy I finally took the first steps to making my dream of learning Russian a reality...at 70 years of age! Works for us!
Have looked through the site for various tutors but didn't get the timely response with our first try. Not the websites' fault. I emailed them and they monitored the situation and then promptly refunded my money for the background check. Great customer service and quick response. On my second try, we have really enjoyed using this service. Getting a tutor used to be a time consuming process. With WyzAnt, it is so much easier. We will continue to use WyzAnt. Our tutor is fabulous and has really made a difference already. My child's teacher has commented how much better she is doing in class just after a few sessions.

This service works. We had responses from several tutors and our daughter was able to find the tutor who works best with her. She is three or four weeks in now, and is having an amazing educational experience.
Very pleased so far
I liked the format of the tutor search pages and the level of detail given about each tutor. The background check feature provides some additional peace of mind. We have just started with a tutor who is proving to be extremely capable, patient, and enthusiastic with our son. The payment arrangement was easy to set up and it's good not to have to deal with money during a tutoring session. The tutor's written report after each session is very important to us; after all, we are investing a considerable amount of money and effort.

I inquired and had a response the same day from a husband and wife team, and my daughter was looking for college CHEM II help asap! They were able to book her all week and spend the significant amount of time she needed to understand a certain area of study, particularly since she had an upcoming exam! I found the perfect tutor!
Wyzant has been an irreplaceable tool in my quest for help with learning Sign Language/Deaf culture. The only issue that I ran into is that there weren't any tutors available within 15 miles of my area. Although I know Wyzant can't control who signs up to tutor, I wonder if there is an active search to encourage people to tutor in underrepresented areas. Even with that, I ended up with the perfect tutor for me and a little commute is nothing for the excellence she provides. Payments are safe and easy and I appreciate not having to go to a public place with cash. It's a wonderful service!

My experience with WyzAnt has been hassle-free! I've found the website to be very user-friendly. I needed a tutor; I plugged in the criteria I was looking for and - voila - a list of possible tutors appeared on my screen. Next I was able to view their photos, read their qualifications, and find out right up front what a session would cost me: all the pertinent information one would need when "shopping" for a tutor. Getting connected was a breeze. When you are ready, you choose to have the tutor make that initial contact with you. The website is set up to handle your method of payment, offers discount packages, and allows you to provide feedback. I like the feature on the website that allows the tutor to make comments about your session. The feedback can be given as well as received, sort of like a progress report for both parties. I am very pleased with my tutor. She is very efficient, knowledgeable, and patient.
