Great Tutor
I was so happy to find WyzAnt. I Googled tutors in the area I was searching for and WyzAnt popped up! It gave me a great selection of tutors to choose from and then I was blessed when Leroy B. responded to my request for physics tutoring. My son is a college student that was not clear on physics so I did not want him falling behind because the class moves very quickly. Everything happened so fast with WyzAnt and the tutor we chose. There was no wasting time and my son was able to tutor with Leroy B. only days later at our request and time. He is an excellent tutor and extremely knowledgeable. Leroy B. has a great way of teaching kids and very efficient with corresponding back and forth. It's hard to be in a different state and know that your kid is upset and wants to succeed but is having difficulty. I can only say good things about finding WyzAnt and Leroy B. It has made my son, my husband and myself at ease. We know my son is in good hands because Leroy has outstanding qualifications. I highly recommend WyzAnt to families. I want to thank Leroy B. for helping my son feel confident and for giving him the knowledge he will need to succeed.

This is an easy to use service/website for finding a highly qualified tutor in your area. Very quick and easy to use with replies from interested tutors (our tutor is a high school math teacher with a degree from a highly rated university) in a couple of hours. Easy payment system.

Life Saver
My daughter was unable to attend any of the ACT training sessions by the school and the other local classes because she works and cheers and has very little free time. We needed to find someone who could work on her schedule. WyzAnt and Alan K, our tutor, saved us! It has been incredibly easy to arrange times and pay for tutoring through WyzAnt. We will forever be grateful. The reviews of the tutors were also helpful and put my mind at ease when it came time for that first session. Of course after the session, when Alan lived up to all his reviews, my appreciation and love of WyzAnt was solidified.
Great resource for tutors
My experience with WyzAnt has been excellent. Our family just moved to a new area and our daughter needed some extra reading assistance. Since we had no connections and it was summertime, I was worried that finding a good tutor would be difficult. My daughter's first tutor (that I got off of Craigslist) unexpectedly quit after 3 weeks near the beginning of the school year. I was unsuccessful in my search for another through that web site, so I called a couple of tutoring agencies. A representative from one agency responded, but their fees were more than I could afford. That representative suggested a website that she as being a "Craigslist for tutors." I went to WyzAnt.com, read what they are about and how their service works. I liked the payment options, how they allowed me to choose a tutor. I liked that they allowed me to put a potential tutor through a vetting process. I liked being able to communicate with the tutor. I like being able to choose a tutor according to my budget. I like WyzAnt.com for their satisfaction guarantee or you don't pay for the first hour. My daughter and I love her new tutor, Alec G. I just wish that I knew about WyzAnt.com at the beginning of the school year. I may go back to WyzAnt to find a tutor for my son. There are so many tutors for just about every need, for every budget. I'm a happy mom.

Fantastic site!
I discovered WyzAnt on Google in a desperate search for a tutor for my 11th grade daughter. The site was very easy to use and I was able to read about the tutors without joining anything. WyzAnt provides an effective means to search for tutors in your area. I was able to quickly find and "interview" a handful of tutors for elementary math. After I chose the tutor, the website made it easy to communicate with the tutor, schedule appointments and pay for the tutoring sessions. I have already recommended the website to co-workers and friends.

Tutor search process
I am very impressed with the number of tutors in the area. I was looking for a tutor with advanced Excel skills for professional development. Yes, I took a LOT of time going through the biographies of everyone who listed Excel as one of their subjects (I think there were about 75), but found 3 who made the short list. After talking with one, and an initial meeting with another, I found one who could assist with both the intermediate and advanced skills. The payment plan was also very easy to get set up. I also like the summary I get after the lesson, as I am getting a very thorough lesson review as well as the amount of money still remaining on my account. Additionally, I called your customer support line with some questions and found your agents to be very knowledgeable. Great job!!!
Excellent Concept on Searching for a Tutor
I really think the way you have this program setup is brilliant. I was able to see the tutor, read their credentials, check to see if a background check had been done, and read reviews of others. My experience
When my daughter asked to be tutored I asked her school, friends, anyone who may have used a tutor but no luck, so I hit the internet. After a lot of research I chose WyzAnt and I must say I am pleased with the results. I used two different tutors due to certain circumstances and was thoroughly pleased with them both. My experience with Customer Service was pleasant and professional. I am very satisfied with WyzAnt.

I asked around school for a tutor and NO ONE, from the teachers to the principle, knew of anyone. I posted on FB and my sister said to check out WyzAnt, that's where she found her son's tutor. One search on there, I found a number that were close by with great reviews. Ms S. is friendly and VERY helpful. Excellent site!

Overall our experience with WyzAnt has been very positive. We had an issue with the first tutor and a quick phone call to customer service took care of the issue. The payment method is very efficient. My credit card gets billed and I don't have to write multiple checks. Our tutor Alex is very organized and helpful. Would recommend your company in the future.

Adapts easily to different learning styles
Eric has been tutoring our 11th grader online for 3 weeks now. His test and quiz grades in both subjects have already increased along with his confidence. These subjects are particularly hard to grasp for many students, especially considering there's a lot of material given with limited time to convey it. The one on one tutoring that WyzAnt and Eric offer are a brilliant combination. They are able to hone in on specific concepts our son has left class with questions about and figure them out before the next test. We have had a tutor here or there in the past and Eric is hands down the best match. We only wish we had started sooner!

Great Tutoring Option
I really like the service you provide. I especially like the fact that you have background checks. That makes it allot more comfortable hiring someone to tutor my son. If I had to choose one thing to add it would be having tutors that would list if they would be willing to fill in. My son's tutor had to cancel a whole week for a death in the family which was totally understandable. It would have been nice to have had an option for a fill in though. That being said, this is the best tutoring option I've found. I am really pleased with my tutor and the customer support. I will definitely recommend WyzAnt to anyone who needs tutoring. We have been using WyzAnt's tutoring services for 2 years and are very happy with the experience and the results. Last year our daughter, who is away at college, needed help in biology. I am very pleased with my experience. We had a trial session with two tutors who my daughter did not feel comfortable working with. I contacted WyzAnt and there was no cost for the sessions. Fortunately, the third tutor we tried is the personality fit she is looking for. It is nice to have so many tutors to choose from. The comfort level of the student with the tutor is so critical. My experience with WyzAnt was very positive. I found WyzAnt by Googling tutors in our area. I was hesitant at first but was not getting the feedback I was hoping for from friends and we were in need of a tutor as soon as possible. I looked through reviews and tutor profiles and found some that I thought would be a good fit for our needs. I was contacted quickly by a number of tutors and was very lucky to run across one that proved to be a great pick, Carol B. It seemed that having to go through a website to make payment to our tutor would be cumbersome but it was seamless and they offered a discount package. On a couple of occasions I needed to call them and easily reached a live person who in both instances was extremely helpful. Background checks are available for clients and confidentiality is honored for tutors. I would use this service again and absolutely recommend it to anyone in need of professional tutoring. After reflection of advantages vs disadvantages, I can only come up with pros. WyzAnt offers a platform that works for both tutors and clients.
Learning experience
I am a dedicated and loyal customer to Wyzant. I have been using Wyzant for my daughters since 2015 and have been very pleased. The tutors varies in price range which I can appreciate and even with a reasonable priced tutor, the tutor is still very knowledgeable as any other tutor. My experience with WyzAnt has been great. I had difficulty finding a Japanese tutor for my son through the more traditional routes. So upon finding your website I was thankful to see several tutors who offered this subject. Yuko is an amazing person and educator so we are quite satisfied in that regard. We really like her reviews of lessons and other feedback, which I am happy to receive online. I like paying through the website as well. It smooths out the rough edges of the relationship. Useful Service
It was very easy to connect with a tutor using WyzAnt. I like that the initial communication is through their site rather than giving out personal details and that reviews/background screenings are available. Payment, scheduling, etc. is all very simple. The service is a bit email-heavy for me, I could do with less in my inbox. Otherwise, I am very happy with the service.
Breadth of Options
Many options are available: in-person or online tutoring; price per hour and experience and number of hours tutored for a specific subject. This was important as we engaged a Latin tutor for our son as a tutor with a 1,000+ hours tutoring the subject was available online at a price I consider to be very reasonable versus tutoring costs in the area in which I live. The online option allows my son to sit in the comfort of his room and desk with no commuting time to meet with a tutor. Additionally, the whiteboard tool makes online tutoring a viable option.

Absolute Amazing Tutoring Experience
Using WyzAnt has been great, as it really provided me the chance to learn a language when my school was not offering it. Immediately upon registering, I was able to see quite a lot of people teaching said language in the area around where I live. I was quickly contacted by many, but in the end, chose one who has been absolutely incredible. WyzAnt has been a great help to me in my learning experience, and I would recommend it to many.

Most helpful website
This website is a powerful resource for quality local tutors. My son is in high school and needed help with AP / IB Trig/ Precalc at the beginning of the school year. Within just 6 hours of starting my research online, coming across the WyzAnt website, and contacting a few tutors from the site, I was able to make appointments with two tutors for the next weekend. Very impressive. Both tutors were excellent with extensive knowledge about this particular high school math course which really is a college course. One of the two, also tutors physics and was able to help my son connect the dots between his math and physics classes. Payments are a breeze through WyzAnt.

My experience with WyzAnt has been very positive. Once I registered, and put my email address and my phone number on record, I was contacted very quickly by a tutor. We made arrangements to meet and the first lesson was very positive. WyzAnt then promptly followed up with a review of the lesson by the tutor and also asked for my review. Very happy with the tutors I have used!
I am a new customer and in the last 10 days I have used three tutors. Two of them have been outstanding. One was a very good tutor, but he just was not a fit for my child and I was happy to be able to use the one hour guarantee. I think the guarantee gives you a lot of confidence to try tutors, rather than looking for tutors on Craigslist or the internet. There are a lot of tutoring companies in Los Angeles and many of them are extremely expensive in the $100 to $200 an hour range. I was really happy to see that the tutors on WyzAnt were very reasonable and there was a wide variety to choose from. In addition, when you use a tutoring service, they choose the tutor for you. With WyzAnt, you read the profile and speak with the tutors directly so you know who you're hiring. Pros: Good variety Easy to use website Quantity discount Excellent quality tutors One hour guarantee Approved subject list (very helpful to verify tutor quality) Cons: Some tutors take a long time to reply to an initial email Photos missing or poor quality (I think photos help you feel more comfortable with meeting a stranger) It would be nice to get more education info like name of school, year graduated, major, G.P.A., as some tutors have very little listed. Not enough student feedback I found myself choosing the tutors that had the best quality photos, the most feedback, and the best written profile. The amount of information given in the profile really makes a difference in your ability to be able to properly choose the right tutor, and, the more detailed a profile is, the less likely it will be that you'll choose somebody who can't adequately fulfill your needs. People who have written a short, or narrow profile, I tend to stay away from. I also found I never chose a tutor with the missing photo; there's something about a photo that's reassuring. The other thing I found was that I was never attracted to profiles that were the most expensive or self aggrandizing but I was also not attracted to the lowest and/or cheapest. I found that the majority of tutors I wanted to contact were in the middle, came from "name-brand" private or well-known state schools, and had majors within their area of tutoring. For example, I would never choose a music major as a math tutor, even though they might be exceptionally good, if the profile didn't address it in the profile. Well, I hope you find my two cents helpful. I would, one hundred percent, recommend searching out tutors that fit your needs, I've had an outstanding experience so far.
We LOVE WyzAnt!!
My son has always has struggled a bit when it came to math, but this year starting 6th grade and moving on to algebra was awful for him from day 1. He is a smart kid over all, but when he looks at number and letters together, it's like a foreign language to him. His math teacher mentioned WyzAnt to us when we discussed finding a private tutor for him. He has currently been seeing Alicia for 2 weeks and in that time, his grade has gone from a 40% to an 89%. She explains math in a way that really makes it click for him and ALWAYS does it with a smile! She is so super great and I am so thankful that we found her. I can't even begin to imagine what his progress will be in a another month if this is the result of just 2 short weeks. WyzAnt has made this whole process, from finding a tutor to making a payment, really easy! We will 100% be sticking with Alicia for as long as she will have us! Hopefully all through his high school graduation. Woohoo for WyzAnt and Ms. Alicia! They rock!

I was looking for a tutor for my son and a Google search came up with WyzAnt. So far, the experience has been great. It was easy to find a tutor in the categories I was looking for. The entire process from initial contact, communication, scheduling, and payment has been seamless. The tutor (Steve C.) is extremely knowledgeable, answers emails quickly, and is on time. My son has only had two sessions thus far, but I am extremely happy with what I have experienced.

User friendly

Easy Search and Helpful Tutors
My search for a tutor was rather easy. I just plugged in biology tutor and lots of sites came up. WyzAnt was very internet friendly and I had several tutors contact me. My tutor I chose has been very helpful, listens to my needs and knows the material and how to teach it. I like how I do not need to exchange money with the tutor but is all handled through WyzAnt. Also receiving receipt of payment and what my tutor went over is very helpful. Overall I am very satisfied with WyzAnt and would recommend their service to others. I would definitely use them again, hopefully this is my last time since I graduate from college this spring.
WyzAnt is awesome
I have never had to find a tutor before so was apprehensive about using an online site, and selecting a tutor without any references from friends or acquaintances. But I'm used to using online reviews to help me find other things (rental homes, good restaurants, well-liked doctors), so I figured I would give this a shot when my son told me he was struggling in algebra 2 and wanted a tutor. I love how easy it was to enter the subject and the distance from our house and gain a list of potential tutors. The information the tutor posted, the tutor hours logged, the hourly fee, and reviews helped me narrow the large field down to one person. It was easy to contact the tutor and set up an interview. We hit the jackpot, because my search paid off and I found someone who was able to help my son understand things he had been struggling with after only 3 one hour lessons. He got a B on his second test, after getting a D on his first, before he had a tutor! I'm so happy we found this site, and I'm sure to use it in the future if my children need tutors in other subjects. It is easy to make payments as well, and I love the reminders about each class and the summaries of what was worked on during each class from the tutor.
Tutor search success
I tried another search app and the individuals weren't as motivated as the ones on WyzAnt. I'm very pleased with my tutor search and selection. I'd use WyzAnt again.
Amazing Tutor and A Great Resource
This website is such a great resource. I have already recommended the website to several friends and plan on recommending the site to my students as well. In addition, Mrs. Barbara T. is an excellent tutor. In the short time my daughter has been working with Mrs. T., her confidence has grown and her grade in French Honors 3 is a solid B. On the last quiz, my daughter received an 85%. Her score was the best quiz score she has received all year. I highly recommend this website. We will definitely be utilizing Mrs. T. for the remainder of the year.

Great Experience
WyzAnt was extremely helpful. I was having a really hard time in my statistics class and my tutor helped turn it around, I went from C's to A's! I emailed a few tutors in my area that fit my needs and I heard back from them all within a few hours. Once I chose a tutor, she was more than happy to work with my time constraints and went above and beyond to make sure I understood the material. The importance of tutoring
One on one tutoring is more time and cost effective than classroom courses. Students will still only get out of it to the level that they put into it. They need to be completing the homework given and ask questions. At first it might be uncomfortable for students since they cannot hide their misunderstandings or lack of knowledge when it is obvious to a tutor what they need help in. The student needs to be honest and ask questions so the tutor can get to the root of the problem. If you are not having trouble with a particular topic, then it will be obvious and you can quickly move onto another topic. This cannot happen in a class full of students. Just because a special class costs a whole lot more, does not mean it is better. Many of these classes are taught by the same people that would be tutoring. I am certain I could get hired to teach these classes, but I prefer a method that is better for the student. I am both a tutor with WyzAnt with over 500 hours, as well as the parent of a student who uses WyzAnt tutoring services. I have never heard any complaints from anyone I have met through the entire process. Happy tutoring!
Great Tutor And Helpful Customer Support Reps.
I was in search of an Algebra 1 tutor for my son for the next month to prepare him to re-take the Algebra 1 EOC. I narrowed my search by reviewing the credentials, experience, and subject knowledge of the tutors and whom would be the best match for my son. I felt like I needed a little reassurance on my selection because of the limited amount of time we had to prepare for the exam. I contacted a WyzAnt customer support rep and he was extremely helpful considering I was in a panic to find the right person. He emailed me the names of tutors that best fit the criteria I was looking for. I was so excited that his list included the tutor I was considering and she was at the top of his list too. Her name is Kathryn Valentine. We have had 3 sessions together and still have another 5 more. My son is very happy and making good progress thus far. We are looking forward to a successful tutoring completion as he passes the Algebra EOC at the end of July.
