Great Tutor Search and Selection
When we were in need of a tutor for my daughter I came upon Wyzant. I enjoyed being able to read through the tutors bios and interests. It helped me narrow down who would be the right tutor for my 8th grader. It is nice to be able to correspond with the tutors before making a final decision. It is not only based on the specific abilities they have but their availability. Being able to see their schedules on the site also helped me narrow it down to my top 3. I felt that the more information the tutor had posted about themselves helped me figure out who to choose. When you have someone coming into your home, you want to be secure that they will be professional and reliable. We have found the best tutor who is both.

I live in Korea, but my son lives in California, so I was worried that I have to find Math tutor for my son. This WyzAnt helps me even if I live in Korea. The website is extremely user friendly. I was able to find several teachers in my area within seconds. The teacher I chose to contact wrote me back quickly and offered a flexible schedule. So many great tutors from which to choose!
My daughter missed the last 1 1/2 months of school due to illness. She needed to learn a chapter of trigonometry and take a test to finish the year, and we were on a bit of a tight schedule. I sent out one request and clicked so others could respond. I found 3 tutors who were able and willing to dedicate the time to get her to the level at which she needs to be. Sierra is great at teaching the concepts and at keeping her on track to complete the work and be prepared to test.

Great Tutor
My son Kyle took the ASVAB test for the Air Force. On his first try he was 6 points shy of passing the exam. He had to wait 30 days before he could retest. Kyle wanted to get tutor in those 30 days and thats when I found Matt T with Wyzant. Matt worked with Kyle twice a week for a month. In that month not only did Matt help Kyle understand the material he also better prepared him for the test. Matt gave my son the confidence he lacked when taking the test the first time. The second time Kyle took the test he scored 30 points higher. I highly recommend Matt to anyone having difficulties and insecurities with any subject or test. What a great find!
I can't believe I have struggled looking for tutors for years. This has been so convenient and beneficial for my son. Too bad I waited until my second child was a sophomore in high school to find your service. The tutor has been great and very professional. Payment and scheduling are convenient and easy. I have been very happy with the number and variety of choices for tutors. We have used Physics tutors and Spanish tutors. Each time the tutors we choose were top quality and related very well with our son. I love the feature of banking the money in your account and then it is withdrawn as needed. This allows you to save when you have the extra money.

Overall experience with Wyzant
Glad I found your company and the tutor we ended up with. We were desperate to find a certified statistics tutor for my daughter who was taking a dual-enrolled statistics class. Just googled 'stat tutor in Melbourne Fl' and WyzAnt came up. Ended up with David B, cannot praise him enough for how he tutored. My daughter was considering withdrawing from the class but ended up staying in and getting the highest grade in the class. She is not a math/science person but can do very well with the right teacher, and David was very good with how he tutored. When I first went on to wyzant to find a tutor, I read all of the tutor profiles very carefully before I contacted David. I would have liked to be able to read more comments; I did take the 5 star rating into consideration, but comments would have carried more weight with me, and it looks like only one review is posted, so I went in and reviewed/changed mine as we ended up having 10 tutoring sessions. I would have liked to have had a comment/review posted for each session. Other than that, everything else on the site was very clear and organized very well, liked that certified subjects were in bold, and background check was done. Overall very happy with experience.
Great Referral & Experience
I connected with a very good, resonably priced tutor, and the 1st 3 lessons have been challanging (supposed to be), but I am progressing. My tutor adapted to my learning strengths and weaknesses and is flexible about meeting. The time keeping form is quite easy, and the payment/billing experience with Wyzant has been without incidence and simple.

I really found using WyzAnt an easy site to use and browse for tutors. Each tutor has their bios, reviews, and what they specialize in. If you pick a tutor and if he/she is not a good fit for your child you can search and select another tutor through their website. Their billing system is easy and convenient and you are able to review all your transactions and remaining balance. Also it is great to have discounts based on the package you chose. So far I am very happy with WyzAnt!

Found a Gem of a Tutor
I was worried about my sons because they would be the first in our family to graduate high school and go to college. I couldn't help prepare them, so I went onto this website to find someone who could. It was so easy to just type in my zip code and have my choice of all kinds of tutors. Really Talented Range of Qualified Tutors
Not ever having heard of WyzAnt, I was surprised by not only how easily I could find and choose from a wide range of tutors specializing in a wide range of subjects. One can choose by subject, level of qualification, fee, and location. When a contact is made a response is prompt. The pre-packages that can be purchased provides a very reasonable discount. I was more than happy with my choice of tutor and will choose him again when I need a refresher or continuing lessons.

Several tutors responded to our request. The one that we chose has been very helpful. My son has ADHD and the tutor has been able to engage my son in the learning process. Tutor Search and Experience
I spent less than 5 minutes on September 14, 2011 reviewing qualified math tutors to help our college freshman. The tutor returned my email promptly when contacted through WyzAnt's email system. I was able to prepay a 10 hour block of lessons on September 15th. Tutoring sessions were held in two hour blocks on Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th, for a total of 6 hours. Tutor and student will spend the remaining 4 hours between the 19th and 21st preparing for the first big test on September 22nd, 2011. I receive a review of the lesson after each session so I know what progress is being made. So far, everything I have done with WyzAnt has gone smoothly and without any problems. I am happy, our student is happy and I DON'T write reviews, because many of them don't seem real. My good experience doesn't mean yours is guaranteed to be good, but in this case, WyzAnt has done their job reviewing the qualifications of the tutor, and she is top notch.

Knowledgeable Tutor
We've been pleased with the tutor we found for AP Calculus. My daughter wanted help with learning topics on a more conceptual level and her tutor has been great for that. The tutor presents information with a different approach than that used by the classroom teacher, which helps my daughter to have a deeper understanding of the material. I like that our tutor has been very flexible and will meet my daughter on an as needed basis. I also like that we can text the tutor to set up appointments. Overall we've been very happy with the arrangements.

Many skilled tutors to choose from
I found the experience easy in terms of finding a tutor to work with my son. The tutor did an assessment prior to getting started so she knew what he needed the most help with. She has many different strategies so he is not bored. We are very pleased so far after three sessions. I have not needed customer service so can't speak to that. Good tutor search website!
At first I was hesitant to use the website since I found it in a Google search and was leery of the legitimacy of the site. After speaking with custom service and e-mailing prospective tutors, I decided to give it a try. I liked being able to read a profile on potential tutors, and the ability to contact them before making a selection. We made a list of the tutors that most interested us and were within our budget. When I contacted the first tutor on my list, I didn't hear back from them for several days, but I did have WyzAnt post a message to their boards for other tutors to contact me if they were available. Well, the second tutor from our list contacted us almost immediately. Since we wanted to get started that weekend, we decided to give him a try. It worked well in terms of proximity, days available, and price. This tutor is even a graduate of the same high school as my daughter, so he is familiar with the teachers, curriculum, and structure of the math program. I don't know if he is the best tutor for my daughter, but he is helping her understand the Pre-Calculus work, and at a very reasonable price. I also like that he is willing to work in our home and around my daughter's sports schedule, so there is NO travel required. Some of the other prospective tutors I was in contact with were NOT willing to travel outside of certain neighborhoods or wanted to meet at the library, which wasn't always going to be conducive to my daughter's schedule. I also like that WyzAnt offers tutors in many price ranges, and allows me to "pay as we use" or offers "bulk packaging" of hours. This makes it economically feasible for those of us on a budget who cannot afford to pay out thousands of dollars in advance like places such as Sylvan require. Also, I like the option to use debit or credit cards to pay for the tutoring sessions. Most individual tutors only accept cash or check. WyzAnt does pro-rate their tutor fees, so if you need an extra half hour or quarter hour you only get charged for the portion of the hourly fee instead of another complete hour. Overall, I have had a good experience with WyzAnt thus far, and hope it will continue to be valuable to me as my children advance in their coursework and begin taking the challenging math and science classes. I would definitely recommend WyzAnt to anyone looking for a tutor at reasonable rates.

We've been very pleased with our WyzAnt experience and are recommending it to other parents. We found a great tutor who did an excellent job elevating our son's math skills. The site was really easy to use and I was pleased to see so many tutors in our area. I appreciate that students/parents can review the tutors so we saw satisfaction before choosing. I also like that we were able to pay in advance to have credits in the account so we didn't have to fumble with payments direct to our tutor. I am thrilled with the tutor we found for our daughter using WyzAnt. Our search for a "Math SAT tutor" provided us with 5 or 6 possible tutors and the person we chose turned out to be professional, courteous, prompt and most of all has great communication with our daughter. Overall, the program is excellent and our son has improved on his grade. The Precalculus tutor, Laura, did an excellent job and communicated with the parents on the progress and the results are showing in our son's grades and class.

WyzAnt has been extremely helpful from the beginning. This was my first time searching for a tutor via the internet. I was purchasing a telescope for my boyfriend and needed an astronomer to not only help him set the new telescope up but to also help him to chart the skies. Terry was truly a God-send! He helped with everything, from the selection of the scope, to the location for us to go to in order to do some stargazing. It rained on the day that we had scheduled to meet and set the scope up, but he (and his wife) were troopers and came anyway.
