Tutor Search and Selection
As a grandmother to two grandsons born abroad and now attending school in U.S., it was a great relief to find a qualified, trustworthy tutor online. I live in a different city and so locating a tutor in the city my grandsons reside was a big PLUS. WyzAnt made it easy and simple. I especially like the various payment options offered. Because the boys were to be tutored on school grounds, the school district office had certain requirements. The tutor had to be fingerprinted, have a background check and a current TB test. We found out about this in December and this month, the boys were able to begin lessons. I am very appreciative of time and effort tutor had to expend to accomplish this. After only a few sessions, things are going smoothly. And this Grandmother enjoys peace of mind.
Perfect Tutor Match For My Daughter
WyzAnt has been so easy. The payments, the right tutor, everything. My daughter's tutor, RoseMary, was so accommodating. My daughter needed help with the upcoming SAT test. Everything was set to study the two weeks prior to the test. And then, wouldn't you know it, a snowstorm hits. No school for a week, roads impassable. Terrible timing for a snowstorm. RoseMary did her absolute best to get quality time squeezed into only 5 days. We have more college tests to study for and hope that RoseMary will be available. Sometimes a student needs more than academic help. They need self confidence help. RoseMary was the perfect tutor match for my daughter.
Excellent Tutor
Our experience with WzyAnt was one of ease and excellence in service. The number of experienced tutors to choose from was incredible. They responded almost immediately to our emailed request which enabled us to receive tutoring for our daughter that night! The tutor who worked with our daughter was able to, in just two hours, give her the understanding of Algebra II her high school teacher could not.
Why would any rational parent not to choose WyzAnt?
I am a proud of parent of an honor student at a nation's top high school. I had spent anywhere from $150 to $280 per hour for my kid's math tutoring from national test prep companies until I discovered WyzAnt. From that time on, I would only use WyzAnt. Here is why, you can go to Craiglist and look for tutoring jobs list. The same companies from which I used tutors are hiring potential tutors with Bachelor's degree and 90 percentile in SAT Math for around $20 an hour. Yet, I got a Master's degree in Math and perfect-score in GRE Math at WyzAnt for much less I paid to the national companies and get much better results for my kids. My daughter's experience with her math tutor at WyzAnt is incredible. The tutor is far superior than any other math tutor you could imagine in terms of the unique and faster ways to solve SAT Math problems. You will not find such methods from anywhere else. Why hasn't every parent used WyzAnt? Maybe that is why our nation's high school math education has not improved much. Thank you, WyzAnt!

So far so good, I have not had any problems and I would recommend your company to others. My daughter and I like her tutor. I plan on using her for the next 3 years until my daughter graduates from high school.

EXCELLENT TUTOR
I am 100% satisfied with my tutoring experience. My tutor Dee (Darnel F.) was simply amazing as far as her knowledge of Excel. The problem I presented I would consider very advanced and she was able to solve it quickly. She was very responsive to my questions at various times. I know the knowledge she shared with me would have taken a long time to acquire if I had to go to classes or read books to find it. So I am grateful and intend to keep contacting her. I am so appreciative for this site. Shortly after beginning my search for a chemistry tutor for my daughter, I had at least six interested tutors from my area. My daughter and I decided to work with Gerardo Y. The tutor is very responsive to the needs of our son. We find him very attentive and willing to work hard to keep our son motivated. He is willing to not only talk to his dad, but the mom as well.
Great Tutor Search
I loved how I was able to find multiple tutors with just one click. All the tutors I found were in the field that I needed the help. Payments were really easy. I know that people don't like giving out their information online, but WyzAnt won't charge you until they get the okay from the tutor and they only charge the amount the tutor spends with the student.

A Wonderful Company and Tutor with Much Expertise
I'm so happy that I found Wyzant. For sometime now, I had been stressed in knowing that my son struggled in math. As a parent, it's hard to see your child struggle and I felt that all of my resources had failed, until I began searching the web for tutors in my area. Motivating Tutor
I started looking for a tutor for my son, who recently started the sixth grade. It is a big transition for a child, since he is now responsible for multiple classes, keeping a planner, and the change in intensity and what is expected of him as a student. I found his tutor on WyzAnt.com, which offers a wide variety of tutors. This allowed me innumerable choices and I was able to take my time and find a tutor that, so far, seems a perfect fit. His tutor exhibits the qualities that I feel are necessary to help my son be successful in school. The payment set-up is convenient and easy, and I am receiving updates after each lesson.

I am a single working mother with an amazing son who has been struggling in math for a few years now. We were not getting anywhere working together, or with his very busy math teacher. He is in Algebra this year and in high school next year. I did not want to go through another year with this math issue. I thought I will never be able to afford a math tutor! Then I found WyzAnt on line and e-mailed a tutor I could afford! I set up an account in your secure website and e-mailed the tutor I had in mind. Provided a great and useful service
When we began looking for a Spanish tutor for my son I thought it was going to be a long drawn out process. One of the first sites I stumbled upon was WyzAnt and I am so glad. The process was so simple. I searched through their tutor database, emailed potential tutors that were in my area. I received responses almost immediately. The tutor that I had initially emailed responded, as did eight others that I didn't even take time out to email. The same day that I joined on WyzAnt I found my tutor and a couple days later my son had his first tutoring session. Everything about our experience has been positive. We found an excellent tutor, and my son's grade has already began to improve. I feel comfortable, because I know that WyzAnt runs back ground checks, so I am confident that I have chose a competent tutor and someone I feel safe having around my son without my constant supervision. When I placed my ad for a tutor I received many responses, so I had plenty of people to chose from. The tutor I chose was flexible on times and location. We are three sessions in and each time she has been prompt and when the hour is up, she always makes sure that my son fully understands everything that she has explained and makes sure that he does not have any more questions. She takes her time and is very patient.
Fortunate to have found Jen
After just briefly searching the internet for a tutor I stumbled upon WyzAnt and found Jen. The whole process has been so simple and has exceeded my expectations. I purchased a package and after each session, money is just pulled form my account so I don't have to worry about payment after each session. I also like that Jen writes a short paragraph about what she covered in the session as I often don't get details from my daughter. She has been eager to help and has been very flexible in terms of her availability. She explains not only the "how" but also the "why" which is very important to my daughter's learning style.

What a great way to find a tutor and get started quickly! The site is easy to use and has plenty of information about the prospective tutors. There are multiple tools on the site that can be used to find and evaluate which tutors would best meet your needs. There is a wide selection of subject areas that are available for selection if you need a tutor for one subject or multiple subjects. The cost is known upfront once you select the tutor and the payment process is easy and secure and can be accessed prior to any lesson. I've been asking around for tutors at the school and other parents, with no success . . . this tool is terrific! The customer support is also terrific and response was very quick and helpful.

finding a tuitor through wyzant has been very easy. to be able to comunicate and make payments through your system makes is all the better. the tuitor i found has been great and my son likes her and her style of teaching. being able to have a one on one session has been good for him and her shows his work to his teachers at school. I have no problem in refering wyzant to others l;ooking for additional help. also is is goog that the tuitors list there fees when looking as possible assistance so that you know up frount what the tuitors fee is.
Great Service
A week ago I thought I'd have trouble hiring a good tutor for my son. Luckily, I found WyzAnt on the web and the same day was able to line up a great tutor. The first lesson was yesterday, and we're very pleased with the quality of instruction. Our son even seemed to enjoy it!

Awesome experience!
I'm really happy with the experience so far. The billing was confusing at first. When you buy $400 worth of credit, it only costs $360, but then the first lesson was deducted and you end up with $340 credit. I think that could be explained better. But our tutor is fantastic. She's really patient, shows up on time, has taught my son to deal with the things about Algebra that really confuse him. I'm very impressed with the service and the tutor!

Experience with WyzAnt
my experience was a little frustrating. It took much longer than I expedcted to find a tutor. There were a variety of reasons for delays. 1. The tutor was booked up and had no more openings; however, they were still listed on WyzAnt. 2. The tutor was no longer part of WzyAnt and was no loger available for tutoring; however, they were still listed on WyzAnt. 3. Tutors with no expertise in my particular area of tutoring needs were still sent to me by WyzAnt. I am very pleased with the tutor I am presently using; however, I think you should keep your totor database up to date to save others from a similar experience.

My experience with WyzAnt has been very good. In researching tutoring options, WyzAnt was one of the first that came up in my online search and turned out to be the best value as well as the easiest to use website. Finding a tutor with the right specifications we were looking for (subject, location, qualifications) took less then 10 minutes. The tutor, Ryan B., is working out very well. I originally asked for his help with my older son but have since used his help with my daughter as well. His skill and ability to teach what he knows is terrific. He is also great with communication, scheduling and promptness. He also gives a very clear review of the tutoring sessions in a follow up e-mail. We used Wyzant to locate a maths tutor for our daughter. Wyzant website made the search very easy and payment is also straightforward. We are very pleased with the tutor and most importantly, our daughter actually looks forward to the sessions!
finding a good fit was easier than we expected
We were at a loss where to begin looking for a tutor. Our child is in a private school 20 miles in town, and the school's suggestions were not logistically convenient. We googled/binged for local tutors. WyzAnt was represented well. The site was easily maneuverable and we found two tutors that looked like they might help. After meeting both, my child found a good fit and is continuing with her on a weekly basis. We paid for a block of lessons, which gave us a nice discount - a bonus we really appreciate.

Need Higher Level Tutors
Dear WyzAnt Administrator; Finding a tutor on your website, the payment process, customer support is all great. I think you have set up a great system and response is speedy. you have a very large selection of tutors all over with a diversity of backgrounds. I really appreciated that. I have met with two tutors, Priya & Robert Z. who are both very nice, very intelligent, very professional and engaging individuals. Both were prompt in meeting times. I would highly recommend them to anyone as tutors. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find tutors who are knowledgable in the area of neuroscience or neurogenetics, so I have not been able to find any tutors suitable for the level of expertise that I need. As a marketing advantage, you really should consider and seek out tutors that are for higher level courses so that individuals like myself can benefit from these tutors. I did not find any in my searches that matched my needs. I have a bachelor's, masters and a doctorate degree, but it had been 12 years since I was in graduate school and I needed someone with a high level understanding of statistical analyses specifically for the fields of neuroscience and neurogenetics. Since these fields are currently the norm and the wave of the future, it would behoove Wyzant to find tutors specializing in this areas. People returning to school for one reason or another are also most likely individuals who are able to afford your services. That's my line or free marketing advice : ) I that appreciate the service of WyzAnt in general and I would recommend it to others based on specific level needed.

Best idea I have come across
I was really worried about finding a tutor for my college age daughter, due to her work and class schedule she only has a small window of time for tutoring. I contacted 3 tutors using Wyzant and got immediate feedback from 2 of the 3. After learning that one of the 3 could fit her in it has been smooth sailing since then. The communication is great, the payment easy and feedback is awesome. I would have no problem recommending this program to anyone.

I Found this site by a google search of Math tutor in Plano Texas, I was thrilled to find this site. John Mow is wonderful and the perfect fit for my child. Was a little concern on giving my billing info before talking to tutor. I did not understand why or if you would bill my account first. Other than that all has been great and I have told several friends about this site. I work in a small private school and we are always in need of tutors. So thrilled I found this site!
As a graduate student in sociology, I learned that one of the huge contributors to educational inequality is the "summer learning gap." It is a gap that many children in the U.S. experience after their first summer out of school. Put simply, the "gap" is a result of many students forgetting what they learned over the summer months. If you ask any teacher, it is very challenging to catch these students up once they start school again. Those students who are exposed to learning opportunities over the summer in the form of camps, activities and tutoring, minimize this summer learning gap. In hopes to mitigate the effects of the summer learning gap, I was hoping to find some kind of tutoring service. After researching the well-known "learning centers," I was discouraged by many of the reviews I read online and the overall experience of feeling like I was being sold a timeshare. That's when I found WyzAnt and I could not be more pleased! I was able to look through numerous profiles and email with many different tutors until I found what I hoped to be the right fit. Fortunately for our family, we struck gold on the first try. Margaret H. is amazing with my very active 7 year old son. She was able to tell right away what he needed help in and develop lesson plans to strengthen those areas. His handwriting is still strong and he is slowly but surely mastering phonics and becoming a more confident reader. She is very patient and knows how to keep his attention. WyzAnt allowed me to invest in my son rather than invest in a corporation that would have transformed my son into a number. Thank your for this service! It is worth every penny!

Very Helpful Tutoring Experience
Wyzant provided an easy method of searching for a competent tutor. I prepaid for lessons which were deducted after each tutoring session so I did not have to think about making payments later. The tutor I selected, Patricia H was remarkable. We initially met so she could assess my needs and lessons began immediately. Her knowledge was impressive and teaching style comprehensive. I would definitely use Wyzant again and suggest it to others.
Pretty easy to use
I found Wyzant easy to use. After reviewing the info on several tutors, I selected one to contact. That led to another half dozen contacted me (which was not necessary and a bit annoying, although had the one I contacted not worked out, I might have tried one of the others). Rosie has been easy to work with, and my daughter really likes her help. We'll learn more about the effectiveness of the tutoring when we see how a couple of tests and how homework goes. I appreciated having WyzAnt as a resource. I have a little concern about how big the percentage of the fee is that WyzAnt keeps however. It seems very high, compared to the value-added from the tutor versus the value-added from WyzAnt. Please consider lowering your percentage.
Great Tutor Search anbd Selection
I am extremely impressed with your services. My daughter has used three tutors and each one was very good. Using a zip code really helped me to focus on tutors in the area needed for my daughter. The system is excellent and easy to use. Also like the fact that you do background checks on the tutors. Your billing system makes is also excellent. Thank you so much.
WyzAnt: Wise Decision
For me, WyzAnt was a wise decision. Their pre-screened list of tutors, with varying levels of expertise, gave me the opportunity to select from a wide range of experts. WyzAnt did the footwork, searching and screening of tutors that would have cost me a lot of time and money. With a few clicks of the 'mouse' I made a one-on-one, in-home match with a very personable tutor who is not only an expert in her field, but also a motivator who inspired my graddaughter to excel in a second language and be prepared for success in a ever growing global economy. Very helpful and easy
The Wyzant website has been very easy to navigate, we found tutors fitting our specific needs and picked one and it as turned out well! The payment page is easy to understand and it keeps track of everything for us. Great website!
Wonderful Tutor
Jennifer is pleasant, informative and has a great deal of patience. She allows him to present her with a problem that he cannot overcome, they work on it, then she reinforces it with basic math rules. He has come a long way.
