At Last- a Great Tutor!
My high schooler has struggled with math throughout her school career. Unfortunately, she was 'passed on' year after year, squeaking by on adequate FCAT scores, but never really doing well. The turning point was her freshman year with a disengaged, burned out algebra teacher. She fell even further behind. We engaged a private tutor, but were very discouraged by the lack of consistency. We then tried another tutoring service which selects tutors for students. The first tutor left abruptly after only 4 months. The second tutor assigned to us was disastrous. Not only did she not attempt to understand what she was supposed to be teaching my daughter, her English skills were limited and hampered understanding even more. Tutor 3 was excellent, but found another, higher paying job after 4 months. We learned that this tutor had given a month's notice but no replacement was found by the time she had to leave. The owner of the tutoring franchise did not return phone calls. I finally found WyzAnt and our current tutor. He is a middle school teacher in our county, is patient and kind, and my daughter's Algebra 2 scores have already improved significantly. We are happy thus far with his performance and I was very comfortable with the WyzAnt model for searching/selecting tutors. I also appreciate the indirect payment method.

I am blessed with having the right tutors for my daughter through WyzAnt. The quality and experience of the tutors is excellent. With the help of WyzAnt tutors, my daughter has a good grasp of the subject. You compare tutors first and you can try different tutors till you find the perfect tutor. Sometimes you get the right tutor from the first try. Tutors come to your home or office and payment is deducted automatically from your credit card on file after the lesson is done. The tutor sends you an e-mail with the lesson to review with the hours spent on the lesson after he/she leaves your home/office. It is convenient that the payment gets deducted afterward from your credit card on file with WyzAnt. By the way, WyzAnt tutors are always accurate in their time spent with student computation. It is a wonderful service.

Finding a good fit for your student
Finding good tutors is especially important to us because my daughter is home schooled. We needed tutors in a couple of different subjects and were able to find good ones through WyzAnt. I like the fact that the selection is so large; we were able to find a good fit at a good price. There was one tutor who, although she wasn't doing a bad job, did not leave my child very excited about the lessons. We discontinued working with her and easily found another tutor from WyzAnt who made the subject exciting and vivid. My daughter looks forward to these lessons. So sometimes it can take a little work to find just the right tutor to get your kid excited about learning but it is easy to do through WyzAnt. We are very happy with their services.
Great tutor search and selection
I have found my experience with WyzAnt to be very positive. I was happy with the tutor selection process and how quickly the tutors responded to my posting. Brian has been a wonderful resource for my son and is a polite, responsible and very accommodating young man who is genuinely interested in my son's success in his lessons. I have found the payment process to be easy and hassle free and I feel good about knowing that I am dealing with a reputable company who makes sure that my billing information is secure.

Teachers are excellent with WyzAnt. Their availability is very flexible. More choices of teachers available for most of the subjects. For some subject areas WyzAnt needs more teachers. For example, AP English. The first time I thought it was just a simple website. But, as and when I get more choices of tutors and excellent customer service, I decided to stay with WyzAnt. I've started recommending it to my friends also. Payment is very smooth and easy with credit card. They charge exactly what they promise. I have used websites and their services from care.com, sylvan learning and Whizard Academy. The overall experience with WyzAnt is excellent and far better than others. One complaint: There should be a printing feature that would allow us to print all the payment history in a report form in the printer. For example, I want to print a report on how much I paid to whom and how many hours in a printer not on the screen only. Thanks, Usha
Great tutor search
Overall great tutor search and selection understanding more than I did before. Very knowledgeable and comes more than prepared. My tutor was in contact with as soon as I posted for a tutor. The payment system works well in notifying of payments. Call centers are helpful and friendly. I am also interested in getting a package deal.

WyzAnt has a good selection of tutors to select from who all seem very competent. Also they have a very good customer support system, that are able to take care of any questions you may have.
A great service
This website was very easy to use to find a great tutor and really was a life saver! Prior to using this site we looked into the local learning centers. The hourly one-on-one tutoring fee at a learning center is much higher than even the highest tutor on this site. We are very happy with the tutor we found here.
Happy with tutor
I was looking for a tutor for a young child who has ADHD, and learning problems in Math. I chose the tutor as she indicated that she had experience with these kind of problems. Even though I am a teacher I found the tutor did a much better job than I could. She engaged him at the beginning with games, and was able to redirect his attention when he strayed. Probably one of the more important aspects is that if he does not understand things presented one way, she shows him various other ways. He still is struggling, because his problems will not be easily overcome, but he feels much more successful. There was one time when the tutor was not available and he started complaining, "Where is Noelia? I need her NOW!" It was very easy to find a tutor as each tutor's biography is presented, and while I have not done this, there is the ability to switch to a different tutor. Payment is extremely simple as I just put this on my credit card and the rest is completed by WyzAnt. The customer service is good and while I have no complaints, the customer service has contacted me to make certain that all is going well. I would recommend WyzAnt to all those who need a short term or long term educational boost.
WyzAnt suits my needs perfectly
WyzAnt has made finding a tutor very easy. The procedure for making the payments are great. I have the ability to buy as little or as many lessons as I want. There are no huge upfront payments or purchases of packages required. For the first time ever my daughter has not been completely lost. Marti is a very good tutor who is very patient.

Easy, excellent service and a great tutor
We're new to the area and although our daughter is an excellent student, my wife and I were looking for extra help since we can no longer help her in math. We found WyzAnt through the internet, and we chose one of the many tutors that responded to our request for help. Our daughter couldn't be happier and she's finding math one of her easier subjects. The system is easy, paying is convenient, and the results are nothing short of amazing. Outstanding Tutor Search
I have been extremely impressed with the tutors that I have used through WyzAnt. They have been very professional and have proven to be flexible when it comes to scheduling. No More Fighting Over Math
I was looking for a tutor for my niece for refresher Algebra to help her after a disastrous year in geometry and the upcoming school year. She’d had a lazy, boring and apathetic math teacher in 10th grade that was far more interested in coaching golf than teaching kids. Her grade took a nose-dive and her self confidence went with it. She had previously been a pretty good math student so I didn’t think she was incapable, just needed help and especially with someone she didn’t have to fight with and "got it." I talked to some of the Sylvan-type programs and even had a pretty good recommendation from a friend but didn’t think she needed 2,500 hours worth of tutoring, nor did I want to make the $10,000 commitment they required so I Googled "tutors" in her town. WyzAnt came up. I was very skeptical at first but looked around, checked them out on some chat boards and at the Better Business Bureau and thought it was worth a try. When we started out, I picked out 3 tutors I thought looked appropriate for her needs and let her "interview" them and pick the one she felt was the best fit. The biggest win for us is she LOVES her tutor, gives her the highest rating every time they meet and is making progress in her class this year. She gets one-on-one help with her specific class curriculum, not the "program" handed down by the "home office." Payment is super-easy; I like the "pay-as-you-go" plan and think the fees charged are very fair.

Great idea for finding tutors
When I went looking for a tutor for my grandson, I didn't know where to start. My search brought me to WyzAnt. I wasn't sure how it would work, but I soon learned it is very easy and I got to look up and see which tutor I thought would best fit my grandson. I contacted him and got a reply quickly. A Great Tool to Get Help for Your Kids
It's terrific to have a place to go where tutors and parents can meet up in an environment where WyzAnt has done the background work, and you can communicate with prospective tutors to find the right match for your child's needs. For me, finding someone qualified was only step one. I wish this had been around when my child was younger. I live in a rural area and it was difficult to find a tutor nearby. Using WyzAnt this time, numerous qualified tutors responded in surrounding communities, allowing us to pick one that would work around my teenage sons school, band, and work schedule. What I really like is the on-line feedback after every session with the tutor, and the on-line payment feature.
Great website and easy to use
I was very impressed with the tutor we found through your website. She has been on time and very pleasant to work with. She is very good with children and gets right down to business. She has helped my daughter understand the math concepts and not just complete the homework. I like that we were able to find a tutor that specializes in specific subjects. The tutor goes over my daughter's work to see where there might be a problem area. They go over the homework, review tests, and go over the concepts to see that she can show all of her work and how she arrived an at an answer. The tutor also said she would be happy to speak with the teacher if it was needed. I also like the convenience of setting up the account and the billing. Great Tutor Search and Selection
My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and mild right-sided Cerebral Palsy. This diagnosis puts her at risk educationally since she is mute and cannot write at this point. Because Apraxia with no cognitive delays is a rare condition, it seemed impossible to locate the right tutor to assist her. Until we found WyzAnt. We instantly found tutors that could understand and teach American Sign Language (ASL) and had special education training. The tutor we chose even had experience as an Individual Assistant for a kindergartner with special needs. Kindergarten readiness is our focus after all. Local Rates for tutoring businesses are around $65.00 per hour. We pay $40.00 per hour for someone with higher qualifications. We started immediately and found the payment options wonderful. We appreciate not having to exchange funds directly and the computer program was easy to use. We also appreciate being able to rate the lesson so that the tutor has feedback. Good selection of tutors and easy search functionality
After having limited luck at the Fremont public high school in California where the teachers themselves recommended external tutors, we needed to find different tutors for my son currently in High School. WYZANT is a very comprehensive and easy to use search engine and platform. Offering great and flexible service for our search. Invaluable service, great tutor search
I stumbled on this website in desperation in finding a calculus tutor for my daughter, who is a senior in high school. I loved how easy it was to find a tutor that is so close and that comes to our home for the lessons. The ease of use of WyzAnt is genius and we are so thankful to have found it. Once I found the website, it only took a minute to sign up and within the day I had 4 possible tutors for my daughter. The payment system is great, no money changing hands directly with the tutor and the entire tutor time is not taken up with those kinds of details. After the first lesson, my daughter got a 92 on her next test! She was thrilled! I was able to find an extremely qualified instructor from our area, a retired math teacher, no less, and my daughter loves that the lessons are done in our home. I absolutely love this service and website you have put together. I had no idea how to go about searching for a tutor and found this site via a search engine. It has been such a pleasant, easy process. The tutor I have is VERY good. She is really helping my daughter with Pre-Algebra and bringing up her grade. My daughter finds the tutor's explanations easier to understand then her own Math teacher; she is starting to feel more confident in herself and her ability to do Math. My son was failing pre-calc and Honors Chemistry and after four weeks of tutoring he has brought his grades up to a C and hopefully a B by the end of the marking period. His tutor also gave him one on one tutoring for the PSAT and they will be working on the SATs which he takes in the Spring. Finally, my son's outlook about the eleventh grade has improved. LOVE this service
I find this service much easier to use than our previous company who took too long to find us a suitable tutor and always billed us incorrectly. Excellent and Patient Tutor
I contacted WyzAnt after my son started to have trouble with Algebra 2. Math is not my son's best subject but we both struggled with it together. This school year I decided that I wasn't going to struggle with it anymore. And, Boy! Am I happy that I found the WyzAnt site! My son was making E's on his homework, classwork, and warm up assignments. He is now making A's on each assignment because of the excellent tutor that I found with WyzAnt. Ho J. is very patient, and he listens to me in regard to my expectation for my son with math, but he also listens to my son and treats him respect. He is always on time, and willing to offer help in anyway that he can. I hope we can keep him until my son finish's high school and all through college. My son actually gets math now. I am thankful for this website. Although my daughter's grades have not yet come up, I have confidence that they will. Her tutor does a great job working with her and I am certain that her grades will improve. I feel that this website also lives up to their promise of confidentiality, which is also important to me. Excellent choices
We were looking for a pre-calc tutor for our son. My wife came across WyzAnt and asked me to search for some qualified tutors. I conducted the search, and was quite surprised by the number of highly qualified candidates. Some were college students, many others were professionals with lengthy careers. I was impressed that WyzAnt required exams to demonstrate subject matter proficiency. I chose 5 of the candidates, sent them each emails, and received cordial, accommodating emails from all of them. In the end, because the qualifications were so consistent, we chose a tutor based on proximity as we were hoping for frequent sessions. We've been extremely satisfied, and our son has improved significantly. We've even referred a friend to WyzAnt whose daughter was struggling in math. Payment is easy and I am notified of the account balance when it runs low. I appreciate the ability to deposit a higher amount for a greater discount, and we've taken advantage of that. I also like the very thorough lesson summary that the tutor writes, complete with her assessment of our son's grasp of the subject matter discussed.

Nice selection of tutors
I truly stumbled upon the WyzAnt website via google. I used 2 tutors prior to finding an excellent instructor for physics. The 3rd tutor has been exactly what my student needed. Communicates the material well and explains it thoroughly...he really knows the subject matter. I appreciate the fact I could change tutors until we found one that "clicked". A student must feel comfortable with a stranger and trust their knowledge! Great results with homework and tests ...from C to A. Thanks! The payment method is easy and convenient as well. Our experience with WyzAnt has been excellent. Great Tutor
The assistance that Janet (tutor) has provided through WyzAnt been excellent. Without WyzAnt helping locate a tutor with the knowledge and expertise in statistics I am not sure I would be doing so well in this course. WyzAnt has provided me a source for any additional assistance I may need while working on my studies. My wife plans on utilizing a WyzAnt tutor to prepare for a comprehensive algebra test. Definitely quality tutors that know their subjects and work very well with students.
Good follow through
At the beginning of the process with WyzAnt I had unexpected scheduling conflicts and work obligations. I needed to be out of town twice in three weeks so I was unable to start the tutoring for about three weeks after I made contact with a tutor via WyzAnt. During the time before tutoring started I twice received emails from WyzAnt noting this and asking if there was anything you could do about it. All is going well now and I am happy with your services.
Great Spanish Tutor
My middle school daughter requested a tutor after having some difficulty with Spanish in school last year. I was not familiar with WyzAnt at the time and did a simple Google search for Spanish tutors in my area. We found WyzAnt and immediately had access to information on tutors in our area. We were able to email potential tutors to obtain more information and ask questions. The tutor that we selected responded promptly and we set up an initial meeting. The entire process has been so simple yet so rewarding. My daughter LOVES her Spanish tutor and looks forward to going every week. She wants to go even when school is not is session. The tutor works with her school curriculum and has her well prepared for classroom activities and tests. My daughter's confidence has improved tremendously and she now actively participates in conversations in her classroom at school. Our tutor is very flexible to accommodate our schedule and is always full of energy and excited to work with my daughter and see her progress and accomplishments in school. The customer support rep that I spoke with was very helpful. So far my daughters tutoring experience has been good. Initially I was worried that it would not work out with this particular tutor but my daughter reports that things are going well. We will see if there is improvement in her grades
Best math tutor
I was so blessed to have Emily as my college math tutor, and will definitely request her at any point I need a tutor again, which may be soon. It was a very positive experience and I learned far more with Emily than I would have on my own. Additionally, the process of finding a tutor suited to my specific needs was made much less painless by the information given for each tutor. Being able to locate a tutor in my area, whose schedule matched mine was very helpful. The charges were very fair considering the expertise Emily possessed in this area and the feedback reminders helped me not only assess my progress but Emily's beneficial input as well.

Best Tutoring Service Ever!
WyzAnt has been the greatest tutoring service. It is especially convenient. I really appreciate the ease of direct withdraw from my bank. I don't have to worry about sending a check for the tutoring, it is just billed as we go. My son attends an after school program as I work. His tutor meets him at the school and after each lesson, I get an email of what and how the lesson went. I am so grateful for this service and really appreciate getting the email after each lesson. My son is doing so much better in school with the excellent tutor from your service. This works out so much better than having to take him to a tutoring center after I pick him up from after school. First, it would make for an even longer day for him and second, he would not be able to participate in football as the timing would conflict. When searching for a tutor through your site, I was able to review several resumes. I chose a young male college student for my son. I thought it would be great for him to have a successful young man as a mentor. It's working! My overall opinion of your service exceeds expectations. Great tutor
We have had a wonderful experience using WyzAnt tutoring services. When I initially signed up for a tutor we had many excellent teachers available to choose from. With the detailed description of each teacher's background, I was able to select the one tutor that I thought would most suit my son's personality and my specifications in a tutor. Once I selected the tutor, the set-up of lesson times and places was also very easy. It also assured me knowing that if the particular tutor did not seem to be the correct fit for my son, I could change at any time without a fee. The first lesson is also refundable. Our tutor, Rick, is fantastic with my son. Rick is willing to work on any homework assignments that my son has, as well as pinpointing weaknesses that need additional concentration. Rick is also flexible with scheduling and considerate when we have to change times. I also enjoy getting a detailed write-up of each lesson and the ability to rate the lesson online. This has been a positive experience that I would highly recommend to anyone that needs some one-on-one academic assistance with their child. It takes the stress out of trying to be the one to help your child and figure out the homework yourself.
Great Experience -- We Found the Perfect Tutor
Finding a great tutor can be a challenge -- especially if your preference, for convenience sake, is to have the tutor come to you. Where to start? I was seeking a Spanish tutor for our son, and just happened upon the WyzAnt site. I began my search, and was returned over 2 dozen tutors who matched our needs. I was thrilled with the variety of Spanish tutors out there -- each with a unique resume, each with unique strengths. There's someone for everyone! I had a good sense of the style of instruction and personality type that would likely work best for our student. The tutors' detailed self-profiles describing their experience, teaching styles and interests, and even client feedback, made it easy to quickly cull down the list to a few finalists. The search process was fun and fruitful. We found our tutor, who has been superb. Our tutor is professional, personable, reliable, energetic, and clearly loves help others learn. Our son is happy to work with her and feels more confident about his ability to do well in Spanish. Her prices are reasonable and I don't even need to have a check prepared or cash on hand. Following each lesson I receive an email both for "lesson feedback" and for payment, which happens through WyzAnt. If we ever need to find another tutor, WyzAnt is the first place we'll turn.

Super Tutor
This is my first time trying WyzAnt and it has been a rewarding experience for my son. He has improved in Math and is very comfortable with Sharon (tutor). I was able to look through the different tutors and their credentials first then I was able to contact them and interview with no problem at all. The payment system was able to set up and I would recommend it to other parents out there looking to get their child ahead or through a difficult subject.
Excellent, Multi-faceted Service
I have wanted to receive tutoring in the past, but it was always so complicated to find a qualified, attentive tutor. WyzAnt made the process easier by listing qualified people who can teach in a big variety of subjects. Also, there are no worries about payment (during the sessions) and it frees both the instructor and student from worrying about finances (which take away from the lesson). Our First Choice of Tutors Couldn't Be Better!
I found WyzAnt at random on the web, and my first choice for my daughter's math tutor has been perfect. She really cares about my daughter, and is willing to go to any lengths to make sure that Brittany is not only learning the material, but that she is confident in taking tests. All of our personalities "click" and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Making the decision to find a tutor for my 8 year old granddaughter was the hard part. WyzAnt made it very easy to find not only one but two awesome tutors. The process of finding a tutor that will meet your specific needs is just a few clicks away. My daughter that lives in a different state wanted to contribute by prepaying for the sessions. WyzAnt made it simple for her to do that online. The first tutor we chose to go with was excellent but unfortunately (for us) after a month she was offered a full time teaching position. Sadly she would no longer be able to tutor due to time constraints. We were very happy for her and found our current tutor within days on WyzAnt. Great tutor credentials!
My children and I met with our tutor at the local library. My sons were very reluctant to meet with any tutor. Donna was fantastic. On time, organized and had a gentle approach and eager to teach. My oldest son said "mom she is really smart, I kinda like her." This translated into, I am eager to meet again. Thank You! I think the ACT math scores will definitely improve.

Best tutoring experience!
My son's tutor, Kelli was great! She helped him with preparing for the ACT. Time was short, so we only had 4 2-hour sessions but she spent every minute well, helping with test strategy, content and general encouragement. Wyzant is easy to use and obviously employs quality tutors. Their prices are extremely fair, especially the "pay-up-front" option. They maintain strict privacy controls for both the customer and the tutor. We highly recommend WyzAnt and Kelli!

My Spanish tutor Abnel R (Winter Park, FL) was very helpful, punctual and flexible with his schedule. I really appreciate his expertise in helping me to reach my potential. He was patient and I would recommend Abnel to anyone who wants to take their understanding of the Spanish language to the next level. Jeff is great with my son Tim! You can tell he loves kids and has a blast working with them. He and Tim have a great rapport. They work hard together but at the same time they can laugh and joke too! Great Place to Start
I was happy to have stumbled upon WyzAnt as it has lead us to a very wonderful tutor that we feel secure in using. WyzAnt did provide a wealth of information on tutors and there was a fair amount of tutors to chose from. I received several inquires to my initial request which was very nice. This being the first time we had used a tutor or WyzAnt I was pleased. Charu was very pleasant and very thorough. My daughter was not made to feel inadequate but made to feel very capable of her knowledge; giving her the self confidence she was lacking. I believe we will accomplish much in a very few tutoring sessions.

My Comments on WyzAnt
This is the first time that I've used WyzAnt. I'm glad that this is a service. It is hard to find reputable tutors. I've asked the school to help me with this process, but as expected, they weren't helpful. So I took matters into my own hands and found this service. My only concern is that it is a little pricey, especially if a student needs a lot of tutoring (even with discount). I know that I have friends that don't make a lot of money and their children need tutoring but she can't afford it, so this is unfortunate for the student who would like to achieve but does not have the support they need to achieve. I believe that your price is more than most people make in an hour and should be adjusted to be more in line with today's earned income. Other than this BIG problem, my tutor has been wonderful. My daughter enjoys her and I like that she provides me status updates on her progress. I highly recommend her. Thank you for your support.

Great in home tutoring program
At first I was unsure if I wanted to find a tutor using an online service. This experience has been a positive one and my fifth grader is enjoying her time with her tutor. She really needed the 1:1 attention without the distractions of other students. The payment system is working out great especially 'pay as you go' and I have the privilege through the website to review the tutor session while checking the status of payment received. Overall, this is a great service and all my questions were answered quickly through the system. I would strongly recommend this program to a family or friend.

Excellent Service
I was contacted immediately upon requesting information on a specific tutor for elementary mathematics. A lesson was set up for the coming Saturday. My daughter's tutor was right on time and on task. She was able to pinpoint the trouble spots and frustration triggers within the first 10 minutes. My daughter enjoyed her lesson and now knows exactly what is throwing her off. Easy to use
The tutors associated with the school were all booked up, so I went on line. I was skeptical at first, but needed to find a tutor for my son. Erin's profile came up immediately, I read her profile and the reviews from some of her students. After a few emails back and forth with her, I gave my payment profile to WyzAnt, and we were on our way. After three sessions with Erin, Dylan's grade point is climbing slowly but surely. He is approaching his homework and tests/quizzes with much more confidence. He now knows he can learn this material! Using WyzAnt was easy... and it's working!

As a native speaker who attended college in Italy she is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, professional, and ethical. In addition, she always responds to email requests and telephone calls promptly. Besides learning a plethora of Italian language, I have also learned a lot about Italian culture which will be quite useful when traveling to Italy. As a student at a local university, my schedule changes often. However, she always places my needs before her own and she is always more than willing to accommodate me.

The arrangement has been working very well. We felt more comfortable arranging for an unknown tutor by going through a structured organization, WyzAnt, that could provide multiple names and descriptions to enable us to find someone who is a good fit for our daughter's needs. She has been very happy with the educational experience. As it turned out, we actually knew one of the listed tutors personally and can completely vouch for the information WyzAnt provides. We chose not to select that individual because of a personal relationship. But seeing him listed actually made us more comfortable about the quality of the tutoring available.
