Great Tutor Search and Selection
I had tried to get a Spanish tutor through the high school my son attends with no luck. I went online and googled for tutors which is how I found out about WyzAnt. Immediately after I signed up I got at least 3 emails the first day. I contacted the person closest to me after speaking to him and coming to the conclusion he could help my son. He is now tutoring my son in Spanish once a week and he does a great job with him. I thanked the others for their interest. I am glad I chose WyzAnt to find a tutor.
Great tutoring session
It's very overwhelming trying to find a tutor for your child to help them when they are feeling "under-able" to keep up in school. I was very happy to find WyzAnt and to know that they were researching all of their tutors and that I could feel confident that the tutors on the site would have the necessary skills to help my child understand his school work. I was also very happy to see that the fees were clearly posted and that I would be able to use WyzAnt to handle the interchange of payment. The process felt very "safe" as I first corresponded by email with our chosen tutor before exchanging phone numbers. Once we had scheduled our first session, the tutor was prompt and friendly when he arrived at our home. My son was apprehensive about the need to have a tutor and about what the tutor would actually be able to teach him (which is probably pretty consistent for teenage boys). I was happy to hear him showing signs of excitement as he worked problems with his tutor and learned the steps needed to solve his algebra II problems. After just two sessions, my son was able to obtain a high B on a quiz, having passed only one other graded assignment since school began. He also has gained the sense that he is able to solve the algebraic equations on his own and is now very happy to know that he has another session scheduled so that he can continue to supplement his classroom learning with one-on-one sessions with his tutor. Children all learn in different manners and finding someone who can relate to a teenager, share their knowledge and correct mistakes without making a child feel ashamed or belittled has given me hope that we may survive this year of algebra II. I am envisioning a year of weekly sessions which my son will look forward to and be open to being a full participant in the learning experience. I truly didn't expect such a quick response to just two sessions. Seeing results this quickly is amazing and I am thankful that I decided to take action when I did and that I was lucky enough to find WyzAnt and their vetted tutors. Having the option of prepaying for sessions and receiving a significant discount is a wonderful extra.
Excellent Tutor Service
WyzAnt is a great service for anyone looking for a tutor. You simply input your location and the subjects you need help with and WyzAnt will give you a list of local tutors who specialize in those subjects. The tutor we chose to work with is excellent. She comes organized and ready to work. She does a great job of coordinating with my daughter's classroom teacher so that she is always prepared to work on topics that are being covered in class. The website is easy to navigate and the lesson payment is automatic. WyzAnt takes care of the details, so we can focus on learning!
Awsome tutor and wonderful easy company to work with
WyzAnt has been a wonderful and easy tutoring company to work with. I just set up an account on a credit card and they debit my account once the tutoring session is over. I then receive an electronic report of charges and a chance to rate my tutor. If you are so inclined you can request a background check on you tutor. It's a really savvy company. The tutor we chose for my son is awesome. My son was really struggling in algebra 1. The tutor we choose, Sanjay, is dedicated and encouraging. In the first session my son felt more confident and excited about his math homework and tests. Sanjay has not only showed him the way it's taught in his class but tips and tricks for doing the problems so he recognizes and can set up the problems on his own. I could go on and on. I am so happy and glad I found your company. I give your company a A+ rating and my tutor a A+ rating. Thank you again WyzAnt and Sanjay. You are so appreciated.
Great selection
I love this website.. I am a science major in college and have used this site twice for my science classes I have struggled with. The tutors are knowledgeable and they know how to explain things in many different ways. I will be back for more help as I continue on. My first experience was with Physics and man did I hate that subject. The tutor made it so my math skills were better and he helped me understand the concepts behind the math. Right now I am currently being tutored in chem 2 for college and Its hard there's a lot of math and misusing the formulas was becoming an disaster for me. I found I tutor who was eager to teach me and shes doing a great job at it. I'm not dreading going to class every night and the labs are becoming fun now that I get the concept behind it.
very easy!
I was looking for a chemistry tutor for my college chemistry class. I searched Google several times and contacted people with personal tutoring websites. I came up empty handed every time. I was about to give up when I came across WyzAnt. I was able to find someone close to home who was willing to take on a college course. I found that tutors on other websites were not willing to help at the level I needed. I was able to contact Sally before I had to pay and fill her in on my situation. She replied very promptly and we were able to set up our first session in less than a week. I have been very happy with her help thus far. She is very patient and was able to quickly see where I struggled. I will continue to use Sally and have passed on the WyzAnt site to other students in my class who are needing help. In the beginning I was a little worried about paying up front for the tutoring time since there are so many scams online. Now that everything is set up and going, I really like paying through the website. I don't have to worry about having cash or remembering my checkbook. I simply pay for a few hours and I'm good to go for a few weeks. Overall, I am impressed with WyzAnt and will continue to use Sally for as long as she can handle me. :)

Easiest way to get tutoring help.
This has been the easiest way to get tutoring help for my kids. I have had two different tutors. One for Algebra 2, Pamela P. and one for Chemistry, Anthony B. Both were really great. It has been very simple. My daughter does not have to worry about paying the tutor or forgetting the money. It has been taken care of with our account. It has worked well for us. I will keep using your program.

Great Tutor Search
I am a teacher and I often need to find a tutor for enrichment for my students. Finding tutors through your site is a wonderful experience. You have done all of the work, and when we hire a tutor, I feel like I already know them. Also, their education backgrounds are impressive. Payment is so easy and I appreciate the random coupons that you offer that help defray the cost. The charges are usually fair (some are overpriced) but there is enough of a choice that it is easy to find a tutor in our price range. I intend to use your site for all of my students tutoring needs.

Great Tutor Selection
Our ninth grade was struggling with algebra for the second year in a row. Despite having excelled in math myself forty years ago, it was no longer within my ability to give him the help he needed. I googled "Algebra tutors in Los Angeles" and found WyzAnt. I put in our zip code and found several algebra tutors close by. It was that easy. The online profiles were very personable so our son could relate to them. I was contacted immediately by several and picked a recent college graduate in our neighborhood. After her first meeting with our son he said there was no need to interview anyone else: he had found his tutor. She was able to explain things in a way that no one else had. With her help, his second semester grade went from a D to a B+, which also replaced his D from first semester! This was a tremendous boost to his self esteem. This year through WyzAnt we found another college graduate in our neighborhood to tutor him in both geometry and Spanish. Two subjects in one tutor! Since I myself don't speak Spanish, and our son's Spanish teacher only speaks Spanish in class, it has been great to have someone provide the extra assistance he needs.

So far, my experience with this program has been great. I like the way I was able to find the, hopefully, right person to tutor my daughter in reading and writing. I will not know how successful this all has been until I see how my daughter progresses with the tutor and her studies. I really like the method of payment. I can use my credit card and my daughter can just go and meet with the tutor without me having to have her carry money with her to handle the financial obligation. I also feel more safe using my credit card and I get bonus points from my card provider and discounts from you by purchasing more time in advance. Your website is easy to use. I do like looking at the person while reading about them. I feel more connected to the person I choose and, hopefully, my intuition about a person is correct which makes me feel even more comfortable about my choice and the program. I would recommend this site to people "in a heartbeat" !
Wonderful Experience
I have found using WyzAnt to be a wonderful experience. I have recommended your site to my family and friends. My 14 year old was struggling in Honors Geometry. From the first time Joseph came to our house, I knew we had a wonderful tutor. He had a patient way of explaining the things that my son did not understand. My son's average went from a C to a high A! He will also be able to help him with Algebra, Calculus, Chemistry and Physics. I felt helpless with these subjects, so Joseph's help is invaluable. In today's busy world, the convenience of having the tutor come to your house is great. I do not have to bother with checks or cash - Joseph enters the time, the money is charged to my credit card and it's done!

WyzAnt is a great website
I used WyzAnt earlier in the year to get a tutor for my son in writing. I found a wonderful tutor, Carolyn. For his next report card, he went up from a 2 to a 3. Additionally, she went over some math concepts as well. In school they touch on so many math concepts and are unable to spend a great deal of time on them. I find that not "mastering" one topic before moving on to the next one was very frustrating for my son. Carolyn was able to help my son feel more confident with math. This year, my son has been on grade level in all areas. However, due to the upcoming EOGs, I have outreached to WyzAnt again -- just so that we can keep him there. Again, there are so many pre-algebra concepts that they want to expose the children to. But not enough time is being spent on a topic before moving along to another one. WyzAnt is a great website, and I'm very glad that I found it.
Spanish tutor
I wish I would have known about WyzAnt 4 years ago. I have looked and used other tutoring programs before and most of them charge a lot of $$ and they never seem to help with the current stuff they are having trouble with. They want to spend their time working on past stuff and that never worked for us. I have a son that has always struggled in math. I got online and found WyzAnt to tutor him last year in math and he seems to be doing well now. I love having the option to get him help in other subjects. I now use WyzAnt to help him in Spanish. I couldn't have gotten a nicer teacher. He really connects with his tutor and is doing much better in Spanish. I think the tutors are very educated in helping the kids. If any of my kids need help in any area I will not hesitate to contact WyzAnt.

WyzAnt is a great place to begin your search for a tutor, my experience was wonderful. My search yielded me a variety of tutors within my area. I especially appreciated the customer reviews of the tutors which afforded me a more in depth look at the tutors of interest to me. Luckily we found a wonderful tutor for our son, he has a gift for teaching and has understanding of special needs children. I appreciate WyzAnt for this site, it has made a difference for our son and family.
Reliable service and system
I've found 2 excellent Italian tutors through Wyzant. The system is quite good giving learners information about prospective tutors so that one can choose a tutor based on individual needs and preferences.
Excellent Tutor Service
I am an adult student who had to take Statistical Methods and Research which was only a 5 week course. Therefore, my time was limited in order to gain the knowledge needed to pass this 4 credit course. The college instruction was good because we were able to do the exercises in class along with group discussion. However I did not have a strong math background which made this course more difficult for me to learn the basic concepts and tools. I needed to use statistical analysis to apply to my research project. I decided to search the web using Google to find a statistics tutor in the Rochester, New York area. I was directed to WyzAnt website. I was impressed with their thought provoking (zip code, mileage range, tutor profile, background check, etc.)Questions that I would not have thought enough to ask. After this process I found several tutors in my area, within 2 days, 5 professional tutors responded to my emails after I gave approval to WyzAnt for these possible tutors to contact me via email. I had several choices of experts readily available for me. I decided to have Amanda to be my tutor because she lives in my area. We met and decided that she could help me agree to a place and time and within a week, I had the additional assistance that I needed to better understand statistics. Amanda was always on time, she tutored me in a manner that did not make me feel uncomfortable (stupid). Amanda explained various concepts in steps until I understood. She did not do the work for me. However, she ensured that I fully understood the process before we moved forward in the statistics exercises. She had the patience to explain the concepts until I got it, and I did!!! I also like the simplicity of the how to process the payments, WyzAnt credit discount, and most importantly, WyzAnt customer service. I needed to know the answer to my question over the weekend, which was WyzAnt off hours. However, I emailed customer service and within the same day, I was given an answer via my email to my question. WyzAnt is an excellent tutoring service that was created thoughtfully, professionally, and is nationally known. I have referred WyzAnt tutor service to friends in Dallas, Texas. This was my first time calling WyzAnt for customer support. The first representative that answered my call was so helpful. I was able to express my concerns regarding my account. She was really concerned and even took the time to research my concerns further and gave me a call back. I returned her call at which time she was on the line with another caller and therefore, I spoke with another representative. This representative also took the time to look into my situation. A couple of minutes later, Rochelle called me back to ensure everything was taken care of. I am VERY impressed with the WyzAnt customer support representatives!!
I like that the service is not complicated
I needed a tutor for my daughter for 6th grade math. I went on the website and was able to have my choice of many different tutors with varying abilities. My neighbor turned me on to it and was also very pleased with WyzAnt. I appreciate the pay as you go option, it really fits my budget.
I found the perfect tutor on WYZANT
I have been using a WYZANT tutor for over two years for my daughter. I wanted a piano teacher to come into my home for an hour each week. After reviewing many tutors online and talking to several prospectives, we were able to quickly settle on Lorraine. My daughter is now six years old and loves to play the piano. She is also being taught music theory. It has been the perfect situation. Lorraine has also helped my older child with French. Finding Lorraine was easy because of the access to many tutors on this site. I was also happy with the policy that if for some reason the tutor did not work out, I could use the money in my account for another tutor. For that reason I had no fear giving a large sum of money to WYZANT to not only use for tutors but also so we could receive a fabulous discount relative to the amount I was willing to put down up front. I would not hesitate to use this service to find another tutor in the future and I have recommended WYZANT to many of my friends interested in piano, guitar, and foreign language training.

At Last- a Great Tutor!
My high schooler has struggled with math throughout her school career. Unfortunately, she was 'passed on' year after year, squeaking by on adequate FCAT scores, but never really doing well. The turning point was her freshman year with a disengaged, burned out algebra teacher. She fell even further behind. We engaged a private tutor, but were very discouraged by the lack of consistency. We then tried another tutoring service which selects tutors for students. The first tutor left abruptly after only 4 months. The second tutor assigned to us was disastrous. Not only did she not attempt to understand what she was supposed to be teaching my daughter, her English skills were limited and hampered understanding even more. Tutor 3 was excellent, but found another, higher paying job after 4 months. We learned that this tutor had given a month's notice but no replacement was found by the time she had to leave. The owner of the tutoring franchise did not return phone calls. I finally found WyzAnt and our current tutor. He is a middle school teacher in our county, is patient and kind, and my daughter's Algebra 2 scores have already improved significantly. We are happy thus far with his performance and I was very comfortable with the WyzAnt model for searching/selecting tutors. I also appreciate the indirect payment method.

I am blessed with having the right tutors for my daughter through WyzAnt. The quality and experience of the tutors is excellent. With the help of WyzAnt tutors, my daughter has a good grasp of the subject. You compare tutors first and you can try different tutors till you find the perfect tutor. Sometimes you get the right tutor from the first try. Tutors come to your home or office and payment is deducted automatically from your credit card on file after the lesson is done. The tutor sends you an e-mail with the lesson to review with the hours spent on the lesson after he/she leaves your home/office. It is convenient that the payment gets deducted afterward from your credit card on file with WyzAnt. By the way, WyzAnt tutors are always accurate in their time spent with student computation. It is a wonderful service.

Finding a good fit for your student
Finding good tutors is especially important to us because my daughter is home schooled. We needed tutors in a couple of different subjects and were able to find good ones through WyzAnt. I like the fact that the selection is so large; we were able to find a good fit at a good price. There was one tutor who, although she wasn't doing a bad job, did not leave my child very excited about the lessons. We discontinued working with her and easily found another tutor from WyzAnt who made the subject exciting and vivid. My daughter looks forward to these lessons. So sometimes it can take a little work to find just the right tutor to get your kid excited about learning but it is easy to do through WyzAnt. We are very happy with their services.

I have found my experience with WyzAnt to be very positive. I was happy with the tutor selection process and how quickly the tutors responded to my posting. Brian has been a wonderful resource for my son and is a polite, responsible and very accommodating young man who is genuinely interested in my son's success in his lessons. I have found the payment process to be easy and hassle free and I feel good about knowing that I am dealing with a reputable company who makes sure that my billing information is secure.

Teachers are excellent with WyzAnt. Their availability is very flexible. More choices of teachers available for most of the subjects. For some subject areas WyzAnt needs more teachers. For example, AP English. The first time I thought it was just a simple website. But, as and when I get more choices of tutors and excellent customer service, I decided to stay with WyzAnt. I've started recommending it to my friends also. Payment is very smooth and easy with credit card. They charge exactly what they promise. I have used websites and their services from care.com, sylvan learning and Whizard Academy. The overall experience with WyzAnt is excellent and far better than others. One complaint: There should be a printing feature that would allow us to print all the payment history in a report form in the printer. For example, I want to print a report on how much I paid to whom and how many hours in a printer not on the screen only. Thanks, Usha
Great tutor search
Overall great tutor search and selection understanding more than I did before. Very knowledgeable and comes more than prepared. My tutor was in contact with as soon as I posted for a tutor. The payment system works well in notifying of payments. Call centers are helpful and friendly. I am also interested in getting a package deal.

WyzAnt has a good selection of tutors to select from who all seem very competent. Also they have a very good customer support system, that are able to take care of any questions you may have.
A great service
This website was very easy to use to find a great tutor and really was a life saver! Prior to using this site we looked into the local learning centers. The hourly one-on-one tutoring fee at a learning center is much higher than even the highest tutor on this site. We are very happy with the tutor we found here.
Happy with tutor
I was looking for a tutor for a young child who has ADHD, and learning problems in Math. I chose the tutor as she indicated that she had experience with these kind of problems. Even though I am a teacher I found the tutor did a much better job than I could. She engaged him at the beginning with games, and was able to redirect his attention when he strayed. Probably one of the more important aspects is that if he does not understand things presented one way, she shows him various other ways. He still is struggling, because his problems will not be easily overcome, but he feels much more successful. There was one time when the tutor was not available and he started complaining, "Where is Noelia? I need her NOW!" It was very easy to find a tutor as each tutor's biography is presented, and while I have not done this, there is the ability to switch to a different tutor. Payment is extremely simple as I just put this on my credit card and the rest is completed by WyzAnt. The customer service is good and while I have no complaints, the customer service has contacted me to make certain that all is going well. I would recommend WyzAnt to all those who need a short term or long term educational boost.
WyzAnt suits my needs perfectly
WyzAnt has made finding a tutor very easy. The procedure for making the payments are great. I have the ability to buy as little or as many lessons as I want. There are no huge upfront payments or purchases of packages required. For the first time ever my daughter has not been completely lost. Marti is a very good tutor who is very patient.

We're new to the area and although our daughter is an excellent student, my wife and I were looking for extra help since we can no longer help her in math. We found WyzAnt through the internet, and we chose one of the many tutors that responded to our request for help. Our daughter couldn't be happier and she's finding math one of her easier subjects. Outstanding Tutor Search
I have been extremely impressed with the tutors that I have used through WyzAnt. They have been very professional and have proven to be flexible when it comes to scheduling. I also believe that the hourly rates for the tutors are very reasonable. When it comes to adding additional money for future tutor hours, I can not say enough good things about the WyzAnt customer service center. The customer service agents have been very responsive and helpful.
No More Fighting Over Math
I was looking for a tutor for my niece for refresher Algebra to help her after a disastrous year in geometry and the upcoming school year. She’d had a lazy, boring and apathetic math teacher in 10th grade that was far more interested in coaching golf than teaching kids. Her grade took a nose-dive and her self confidence went with it. She had previously been a pretty good math student so I didn’t think she was incapable, just needed help and especially with someone she didn’t have to fight with and "got it." I talked to some of the Sylvan-type programs and even had a pretty good recommendation from a friend but didn’t think she needed 2,500 hours worth of tutoring, nor did I want to make the $10,000 commitment they required so I Googled "tutors" in her town. WyzAnt came up. I was very skeptical at first but looked around, checked them out on some chat boards and at the Better Business Bureau and thought it was worth a try. When we started out, I picked out 3 tutors I thought looked appropriate for her needs and let her "interview" them and pick the one she felt was the best fit. The biggest win for us is she LOVES her tutor, gives her the highest rating every time they meet and is making progress in her class this year. She gets one-on-one help with her specific class curriculum, not the "program" handed down by the "home office." Payment is super-easy; I like the "pay-as-you-go" plan and think the fees charged are very fair.

Great idea for finding tutors
When I went looking for a tutor for my grandson, I didn't know where to start. My search brought me to WyzAnt. I wasn't sure how it would work, but I soon learned it is very easy and I got to look up and see which tutor I thought would best fit my grandson. I contacted him and got a reply quickly. I wish this had been around when my child was younger. I live in a rural area and it was difficult to find a tutor nearby. Great Tutor Search and Selection
My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and mild right-sided Cerebral Palsy. This diagnosis puts her at risk educationally since she is mute and cannot write at this point. Excellent and Patient Tutor
I contacted WyzAnt after my son started to have trouble with Algebra 2. Math is not my son's best subject but we both struggled with it together. This school year I decided that I wasn't going to struggle with it anymore. And, Boy! Am I happy that I found the WyzAnt site! My son was making E's on his homework, classwork, and warm up assignments. He is now making A's on each assignment because of the excellent tutor that I found with WyzAnt. Excellent choices
We were looking for a pre-calc tutor for our son. My wife came across WyzAnt and asked me to search for some qualified tutors. I conducted the search, and was quite surprised by the number of highly qualified candidates. Some were college students, many others were professionals with lengthy careers. I was impressed that WyzAnt required exams to demonstrate subject matter proficiency. I chose 5 of the candidates, sent them each emails, and received cordial, accommodating emails from all of them. In the end, because the qualifications were so consistent, we chose a tutor based on proximity as we were hoping for frequent sessions. We've been extremely satisfied, and our son has improved significantly. We've even referred a friend to WyzAnt whose daughter was struggling in math. Great Tutor
The assistance that Janet (tutor) has provided through WyzAnt been excellent. Without WyzAnt helping locate a tutor with the knowledge and expertise in statistics I am not sure I would be doing so well in this course. WyzAnt has provided me a source for any additional assistance I may need while working on my studies. My wife plans on utilizing a WyzAnt tutor to prepare for a comprehensive algebra test. Good follow through
At the beginning of the process with WyzAnt I had unexpected scheduling conflicts and work obligations. I needed to be out of town twice in three weeks so I was unable to start the tutoring for about three weeks after I made contact with a tutor via WyzAnt. During the time before tutoring started I twice received emails from WyzAnt noting this and asking if there was anything you could do about it. All is going well now and I am happy with your services.
Great Spanish Tutor
My middle school daughter requested a tutor after having some difficulty with Spanish in school last year. I was not familiar with WyzAnt at the time and did a simple Google search for Spanish tutors in my area. We found WyzAnt and immediately had access to information on tutors in our area. We were able to email potential tutors to obtain more information and ask questions. The tutor that we selected responded promptly and we set up an initial meeting. The entire process has been so simple yet so rewarding. My daughter LOVES her Spanish tutor and looks forward to going every week. She wants to go even when school is not is session. I was so blessed to have Emily as my college math tutor, and will definitely request her at any point I need a tutor again, which may be soon. It was a very positive experience and I learned far more with Emily than I would have on my own. Best Tutoring Service Ever!
WyzAnt has been the greatest tutoring service. It is especially convenient. I really appreciate the ease of direct withdraw from my bank. I don't have to worry about sending a check for the tutoring, it is just billed as we go. My son attends an after school program as I work. His tutor meets him at the school and after each lesson, I get an email of what and how the lesson went. I am so grateful for this service and really appreciate getting the email after each lesson. My son is doing so much better in school with the excellent tutor from your service. This works out so much better than having to take him to a tutoring center after I pick him up from after school. First, it would make for an even longer day for him and second, he would not be able to participate in football as the timing would conflict. When searching for a tutor through your site, I was able to review several resumes. I chose a young male college student for my son. We have had a wonderful experience using WyzAnt tutoring services. When I initially signed up for a tutor we had many excellent teachers available to choose from. With the detailed description of each teacher's background, I was able to select the one tutor that I thought would most suit my son's personality and my specifications in a tutor. Once I selected the tutor, the set-up of lesson times and places was also very easy. It also assured me knowing that if the particular tutor did not seem to be the correct fit for my son, I could change at any time without a fee. The first lesson is also refundable. Our tutor, Rick, is fantastic with my son. Rick is willing to work on any homework assignments that my son has, as well as pinpointing weaknesses that need additional concentration. Rick is also flexible with scheduling and considerate when we have to change times. I also enjoy getting a detailed write-up of each lesson and the ability to rate the lesson online. Making the decision to find a tutor for my 8 year old granddaughter was the hard part. WyzAnt made it very easy to find not only one but two awesome tutors. The process of finding a tutor that will meet your specific needs is just a few clicks away. My daughter that lives in a different state wanted to contribute by prepaying for the sessions. WyzAnt made it simple for her to do that online. The first tutor we chose to go with was excellent but unfortunately (for us) after a month she was offered a full time teaching position. Great tutor credentials!
My children and I met with our tutor at the local library. My sons were very reluctant to meet with any tutor. Donna was fantastic. On time, organized and had a gentle approach and eager to teach.
