Is the French horn a difficult instrument to learn?

Yes! When played well the French horn has a gorgeous tone, an incredibly large range, and is the most expressive of all the instruments (IMHO). However, gaining the skills necessary to do those things is a difficult journey. Regular practice and dedication are extremely necessary for an aspiring horn player. This instrument is best suited for individuals who like a challenge and like being unique (most schools have huge flute, clarinet, trumpet, and saxophone students, but few if any French horn players).

It is difficult, but for those that are up for it the rewards are amazing!
