I hope you meant an everyday "tutor" and not "torturer" !!!

Let's see if we can reason this one out: 

Lilli eats a half pound of cherries in a certain amount of time.

Since a full pound is twice as much as a half pound, so it would take her twice as long to eat that amount.

So, just multiply 3/4 x 2/1 to give you 6/4, which simplifies to 3/2, or 1 1/2 minutes.
