It's hard to say! Consulting in general can encompass a wide range of fields, from finance, to corporate strategy, to negotiations. It all depends on the area of study. If you are looking for general project improvement, I would recommend the Project Management Institute which offers a few certificates in project management. This is a great foundation for understanding constants across most if not all projects across an array of industries. Otherwise, any certification in the specific field you are looking to consult in can be a great support to showcase your expertise and talents. If you are going into financial consulting, a Series 7 or a CFA can showcase your literacy. The same goes for most if not all industries, it just depends on your niche expertise and what you can bring to the table.
