You are choosing between two plans for a checking account. Plan A has a monthly fee of $11 plus $0.06 per each check written. Plan B has a monthly fee of $4 with a $0.20 per week. How many checks written in a month make Plan A the better deal?

Plan B: 20 cents per week???? That would make the monthly fee about $4.80 or $5 (4-5 weeks per month)

 

you meant 20 cents per check; otherwise the there is no question that plan B is better at $5 per month.

 

If so

11 + 0.06X =  4 + 0.2x

 

7 + 0.06x = 0.2x

 

7 = 0.14x

 

x = 50

 

 

They cost the same at 50 checks.

 

Less than 50 checks, plan B is cheaper.
