how to simlify integers

For example how do you simplify:+5 - (-11) please help as soon as possible

Andrew M.

When adding numbers with same sign, just add the
numbers and keep the same sign.

3 + 4 = 7
-3 - 4 = -7

Subtracting a negative... Change to a positive and add
a - (-b) = a + b
Example:  7 - (-9) = 7 + 9 = 16

               -7 - (-9) = -7 + 9 = 9 - 7 = 2

When signs are different, subtract smaller from larger and
give the answer the same sign as the larger number:
a + (-b) = a-b
Example:  7 + (-9) = 7 - 9 = -2
              -7 + 9 = 9 - 7 = 2
