As usual, in any Geometry problem, YOU MAKE & LABEL A DIAGRAM.
It's a rectangle. It has a diagonal, labeled 5. Label the sides x and y, for each of the two right triangles formed by the diagonal.
The facts you have allow you to write x2 + y2 = 25, using the Pythagorean theorem (which I think would have occurred to you even if there were not the hint, explicitly).
Again looking at the figure and the given facts, write an equation for Area.
You now have two equations and two unknowns. Solve the system, using SUBSTITUTION.
