The goal is to get all the t-terms together.
Multiply both sides of the equation by (ct - b).
at + b = ct - b
Subtract ct and subtract b on both sides of the equation.
at - ct = -b - b
at - ct = -2b
Next, we factor out a t on the left side.
t(a - c) = -2b
Finally, divide both sides of the equation by (a - c).
t = -2b / (a - c)
