If you call M the Mother's stature, D her daughter's stature and B her brother stature, we have:

 

 

M = 1 3/8 (D) = 1 3/8 (1 1/3 B) =  (11/8)(4/3)B = (44/24) B  = (11/6) B = (1 5/6)B

 

Then the Mother is 1 5/6 time as tall as her son
