Both of my children are struggling academically, and I’ve realized they need more consistent support and oversight.
My son is 17 and attends High School as a junior, where he is studying automotive technology. He has ADHD and is very bright, but he often struggles to complete assignments unless someone is sitting with him. Executive functioning is a significant challenge: he has difficulty preparing for assignments, managing his time, and making steady progress on larger projects.
My daughter is turning 16 and is a sophomore. Her difficulties with math became more apparent in eighth grade. Although she has not been diagnosed, she recently told me that she has trouble focusing. She may have some symptoms of ADHD, but I believe the larger issue is that she has not yet learned how to study effectively. For example, she believes that reviewing material for about half an hour the day before a test is enough preparation.
I’m finding it difficult to manage both of their academic workloads and the stress that comes with trying to keep them on track. Their success in high school and beyond is my highest priority, and we need help. I’m looking for someone who can meet with them a few times a week, review upcoming and missing assignments, help them understand material they find challenging.

I’m looking for a private reading and writing tutor for my 5½-year-old son, who just started kindergarten. The goal is enrichment and helping him become stronger in English reading and writing. English is our second language and we don’t speak it at home, although he speaks and understands English well and recognizes letters. We live in Groton MA.
