I am currently a nursing student, which has given me a strong educational background in biology, anatomy and physiology, and nutrition. My coursework has required me to develop a deep understanding of these subjects, as well as critical thinking and application skills that I bring into my tutoring.
I have been tutoring biology and nutrition at the Carbon County Higher Education Center for about one year. Most of my experience has been working one-on-one with college students, typically ranging from late teens to adult learners. I have also informally helped classmates in group study settings throughout my coursework.
My approach to tutoring focuses on simplifying complex concepts, using real-life examples, and adapting to each student’s learning style. I often use a combination of verbal explanations, diagrams, and practice questions to reinforce understanding. I also emphasize active recall and application rather than memorization, helping students build confidence and actually understand the material.
Overall, my combination of current education, hands-on tutoring experience, and ability to connect with students in a supportive way allows me to effectively tutor in biology and nutrition.
