Hello potential tutees! I am a future graduate student in a marine biology program and am looking to tutor before my semester starts. I graduated, with honors, with a Batchelor's of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, and have 2 years of experience as a peer tutor.
As a peer tutor, I helped fellow college students with English, Math, Biology and Chemistry. In the tutoring program I was a part of, we could tutor for topics that we received a B or higher in, as that demonstrated our mastery of the subject. I typically tutored people around ages 19-24, but sometimes I also tutored non-traditional students who were older. I tutored one on one in the college library, and typically used Socratic Questioning and teaching from the student's notes to ensure harmonization with the teacher’s methods. My approach in tutoring is to foster understanding and confidence in the subject. I really enjoy tutoring and am always excited to gain more experience tutoring different ages and methods.
