Garrett received a bachelor’s degree in English, a Master’s of Education from the University of Maryland, and a Master's of Learning and Technology. He has experience teaching in public middle and high schools outside Washington D.C., teaching and developing curriculum for an international traveling IB boarding school in Buenos Aires, Hiroshima, Boston, and Hyderabad, working as an elementary and technology teacher in a small mountain town, teaching 10th Grade English for a completely tech free school in Switzerland and finally to becoming a full time tutor.
Garrett believes in giving students the tools they need to support themselves. He hopes that by the time they finish his sessions they have become more independent learners. Garrett is trained and experienced in the Orton Gillingham reading intervention program.
