Hello, I’m Jonah! I graduated from the University of Wyoming with bachelor’s degrees in Agriculture Education and Agriculture Communications. After college, I taught high school woodshop before transitioning to my current role as a youth pastor, where I continue to teach and mentor students in communication, leadership, and life skills.
In high school, I was deeply involved in FFA and debate, developing a passion for public speaking and agriculture. I was ranked nationally in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, qualified for the National Tournament, and competed in Original Oratory and U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking, qualifying to the NIETOC in Oratory. Within FFA, I was named the National Champion Creed Speaker, Reserve National Champion Prepared Speaker, and a Top-16 National Extemporaneous Speaker. I also served as Wyoming FFA State President and on the National FFA Nominating Committee. Inspired by my own agriculture teacher, I pursued education to make the same kind of difference in students’ lives.
I enjoy tutoring in English, agriculture, career preparation, and test prep. I earned a 31 on the ACT and love helping students develop strong testing and communication skills for college and the workforce. While in college, I worked in the Oral Communication Center, tutoring students and staff in public speaking, interviewing, and interpersonal communication. I also co-authored a booklet on speechwriting to help others communicate effectively.
I believe the best learning happens through hands-on, experiential education. I’m passionate about Career and Technical Education (CTE) and public speaking, subjects that thrive on real-world application. Outside of work, I coach state and national award-winning students in public speaking. Whether it’s refining a speech, improving writing, or deepening understanding in agriculture and English, my goal is to make learning engaging, practical, and confidence-building.
