Greetings! I am a certified, full-time ELA teacher who is happy to help with distance learning, homeschooling, homework, standardized test preparation, and everything in between. My B.S.Ed. is in 4-9 ELA and Science Education (summa cum laude - 3.98 GPA) and I have a Master's in English from Ohio University. I have extensive experience at tutoring and currently teach 7-8 ELA as well as college courses. In addition, I was homeschooled, so I can offer tips on homeschool curriculum and pacing....

I have extensive experience at tutoring and currently teach 7-8 ELA as well as college courses. In addition, I was homeschooled, so I can offer tips on homeschool curriculum and pacing. I am passionate about the value of education and want to help support your child's unique learning and growth.

I have presented on teaching techniques at the National Council of Teachers of English conference as well as state conferences. I scored 99th percentile on SAT writing and reading sections.

Certified 4-9 science teacher in Ohio and West Virginia. 6 years of science fair experience, presenting research at the local, state, and international levels. Finalist at Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) Phoenix, Arizona.

Songwriting

I've played guitar for nearly 20 years, but was a blocked songwriter for much of that time. Today, I have written hundreds of pages of lyrics and numerous original folk songs. As a full-time ELA teacher, I am passionate about the art of writing and putting it to music. I encourage students to use songwriting as a means of exploring and sharing their world. My creative writing instruction is highly informed by Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way" and also incorporates techniques learned from years of academic writing.

We consolidated an idea I have for my science fair and she helped me navigate through whether my projects are feasible.
