I'm Stefanie! I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-6) with a specialization in Special Education. I aim to apply the knowledge gained from my degree to create exceptional tutoring experiences for each student. My lesson plans start with an engaging opener and continue with explicit instruction, giving students time for practice. I have one year of experience tutoring students in an English class setting. I worked directly with any student who needed assistance and had a small focus group of 2-5 students in each of my 6 classes. These students consistently needed more help, so I dedicated myself to working with them to ensure they kept up with their peers. I also have a year of tutoring experience at the high school level. I worked one-on-one with students in the subjects of English, Algebra, Geometry, Music, Biology, and Physics during my planning period.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

I tutored high school students in Algebra 1 during my planning periods. I helped most students with homework or studying for quizzes. I would look at their worksheets to see what they had completed, and then help where I saw mistakes.

American History

My first major was Elementary Social Studies; I have most of the coursework completed to teach it. I taught 3rd-grade social studies, including American History, and I also tutored high school U.S. History. Students would come to me during my planning periods for homework or studying help.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I graduated magna cum laude with my degree in Elementary Education, specializing in Special Education. I took two extra courses for ASD. I also have three years of experience with several students with ASD.

Biology

I am certified to teach elementary school biology courses. I have one year of experience teaching 3rd-grade science, including a biology unit. I also have one year of experience tutoring 5 to 8 high school students in biology.

Creative Writing

I am a certified Creative Writing Teacher. I have a degree in Education, with certifications in English, Creative Writing, Pre-K, Elementary K-6, and Special Education. I taught 10th-grade English for one year, with 60 to 70 students. I had students write various fictional stories throughout the year. I also taught one period of Fiction Writing for one year, with 9 students.

I have a degree in Elementary Education (K-6). I have two years of experience teaching/tutoring Geography. I taught both elementary and high school-level geography, plus tutored students in the subject.
