Greetings to Everyone! I am a permanently licensed educator for the state of West Virginia. I am certified in Special & Regular Elementary Education: Pre K thru 6th grades. I have taught many years in various classroom placements from groups of 3 to 29 in any given setting. When tutoring students in a private setting, that student can develop projects if needed for school, or just "sharpen the saw" aka Covey Habit #7! It brings me joy to see a student just "having fun" when getting tutored during a writing session. Or reading a book then explaining their take on the situation, maybe change the ending of the story.
I spent over 4 years teaching middle school 6th grade English Language and Writing classes along with STEM classes. During those 4 years the students taught me many aspects of myself as a teacher to make me a better educator in the area of Language Arts and Writing. I am still learning from that recent teaching position as I tutor "gifted" elementary students from around southern WV on Saturdays in the city of Charleston.
My teaching philosophy lies within this statement. Every student is gifted no matter where they come from; it is my job to help them find out in what area and "go for it"! I would love to have the opportunity to help you discover your gift!
