My experience at Boys & Girls Club in Seattle, Washington has taught me what kids need in terms of guidance and direction. I love to see when a child finally gets it! There was a boy that I worked with who had a great imagination, but was in the 5th grade and still didn't know how to read. He was very stubborn about it, so I made a deal with him 15 minutes of play in exchange for him reading a 10 page book. We haggled a bit and then he agreed!
I am a certified TESOL teacher with two years of experiences living and teaching in Zhengzhou, China. I am a published poet and aspiring author, who won a writing county-wide writing competition in high school and studied creative writing in college.
