Hi! I'm Alex. I tutor economics, statistics, econometrics, data analytics, R/RStudio, Excel, causal inference, and game theory. I help students with AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, college economics, intermediate microeconomics, regression, hypothesis testing, p-values, confidence intervals, and interpreting statistical output.

Hi! I'm Alex. I tutor economics, statistics, econometrics, data analytics, R/RStudio, Excel, causal inference, and game theory. I help students with AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, college economics, intermediate microeconomics, regression, hypothesis testing, p-values, confidence intervals, and interpreting statistical output.

I received my PhD in Economics from West Virginia University in 2023 and am currently an Assistant Professor of Economics and Data Analytics at Berry College, ranked number #1 in undergraduate teaching among regional southern universities. I teach business statistics, principles of economics, intermediate microeconomics, data analytics in R, and causal inference. I have also published several papers in peer-reviewed academic journals.

I have nine years of professional tutoring experience and five years of university teaching experience. Two of those tutoring years were spent at the Learning Assistance and Resource Center of West Chester University, where I completed three levels of College Reading and Learning Association certification. I have been a Master Certified Tutor since 2017 and have thousands of hours of tutoring experience, including professional, freelance, and Wyzant tutoring.

My tutoring style is patient, practical, and step-by-step. I work especially well with students who feel like the graphs, formulas, regression output, or homework problems are not “clicking” yet. I focus on helping students understand the logic behind the material so they can solve problems on their own, improve their grades, and feel more confident in class.

As a PhD student at WVU, I taught large in-person sections of Principles of Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Causal Inference in R, and Applied Research Methods. At Berry, I designed the first-ever Causal Inference course and help develop the Data Analytics and Data Science curriculum.

I use RStudio on a daily basis and co-taught a graduate-level Causal Inference class, where my primary responsibility was hosting RStudio help sessions for grad students (many of whom were working professionals) where I showed them how to perform complex statistical analysis methods such as: Synthetic Control, Difference-in-differences, Event Study, Matching, Instrumental Variable Approach, and Regression Discontinuity.

I had a great experience working with Alex. We covered several important topics, including hypothesis testing, chi-square tests, and regression analysis, and he explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He was very patient and took the time to make sure I fully understood each concept before moving on. I never felt rushed, and he was always willing to go over things again if I needed clarification. His knowledge of the material really showed, and he was able to break down more complex ideas into simple steps. Overall, he created a comfortable learning environment and made challenging topics much more manageable. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs help with statistics.
