Hi, I'm Sabrina, a registered nurse and a graduate of nursing school magna cum laude, currently enrolled in a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) program. I have a strong academic foundation specifically in anatomy and physiology and pharmacology, along with a solid foundation in core nursing concepts. I bring over six years of critical care experience, which allows me to connect foundational material to real clinical scenarios. I enjoy helping students understand not just what the correct answer is, but why it is correct and how concepts fit together.
In addition to my academic background, I have experience teaching and mentoring in a hands-on clinical setting. As an ICU nurse, I regularly supported new graduate nurses, nursing students, and prospective nursing students at the bedside, focusing on real-time clinical decision-making, foundational nursing skills, and critical thinking rather than traditional coursework. I frequently created quick-reference guides, tip sheets, and simplified explanations to help learners grasp complex concepts and apply them confidently in practice. I consistently went the extra step to ensure understanding, adjusting my approach as needed so learners felt supported, capable, and prepared to function independently.
My tutoring style is structured, supportive, and instructor-led. In a typical one-on-one session, I assess where you are with the material and then take the lead in organizing concepts, identifying gaps, and breaking down difficult topics into manageable pieces. I work especially well with college-level students in nursing and pre-nursing who want clear explanations and a guided approach. My goal is to help you feel confident, prepared, and in control of your learning, whether you're building foundational knowledge or preparing for exams. I welcome students to reach out so we can create a focused plan that fits your goals.
