I have 20 years of education experience including over 10 years teaching in the alternative and residential environment. During my time as a residential educator I was also responsible for the social-emotional development of my students by using prevention and intervention techniques. As an educator in Loudoun County I was a certified member of the county’s diversity and equality team. I provided training and professional development for teachers and administrators.

I am certified in special education which requires me to be detail oriented and maintain accurate records. I am certified in crisis management and intervention. I have completed 20 hours in graduate work in addiction and recovery counseling. I have completed numerous hours in trauma-based care and my certification in therapeutic crisis management. My experience has allowed me to provide direct services to learners. I am knowledgeable in filling out Medicaid billing forms and documentation. I have a bachelor’s degree in education plus I am pursuing my master’s degree in substance abuse and recovery counseling.

Above all else I am an advocate for all learners. I encourage learners to see their true potential. My rapport with the community is positive and upbeat. My training in conflict resolution has allowed me to be a better leader in the classroom. I have a passion for helping learners live the best lives they can.
