My name is Lucy, and I am currently a top student at the Johns Hopkins University. I am majoring in Medicine, Science, and Humanities with a minor in French. I tutor English, Reading, Writing, Literature, and Essay outlining/writing/proofreading. I am also available for Pre-algebra and Algebra! I can tutor on the elementary, middle school, or high school level! I am also available to tutor Essays and Literature on the college/university level.

I am a student leader for several academic organizations at my University, and I represent the Honor and Professional Societies here at Hopkins in our Student Government Association. I am adept at tutoring and have actually taught several summer-learning literary courses for middle school and pre-highschool students.

Writing essays and reading and understanding literary works can be very daunting for students, but success is achievable! I am skilled at providing valuable feedback for students, and I am deft at guiding them step-by-step in tackling essays and reading!

Having a strong foundation in Pre-algebra and Algebra concepts is essential for success in other advanced math courses - and for life overall. However, math can be quite a difficult hurdle to jump for students. The only way to overcome such a hurdle is through constant practice and by asking many, many questions! I excel at breaking down complex concepts into simple, relatable steps, and in creating a supportive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and improve. With my patient approach, I am able to help students not only master algebra but also develop a genuine understanding and appreciation for math.
