Hello,
I’m Luke and I genuinely enjoy the process of learning alongside others. I hold a bachelor’s degree in biology and geology and a master’s in environmental geology, and have worked full time in the environmental field for the past 8 years. I have experience as a teaching assistant at the college level from three different universities, where I specialize in explaining scientific concepts to students who are seeking degrees in both science and non-science fields.

I wholeheartedly believe any student can be successful in science classes, and work hard to help him or her find the subject’s relevance to his or her own interests. In addition to assisting in teaching biology and geology at the college level, I have experience in teaching at the elementary, middle school and high school level, where I have taught science, reading, and math concepts.

I enjoy working through specific assignment challenges, as well as walking students through the ‘big picture’ of the subject. In addition to the sciences, I am passionate about writing and communication and have worked one-on-one with students in crafting essays of both scientific and literary subject matter.
