I have taught an array of HS and MS science classes with 23 years of teaching experience in the classroom. Classes I have taught include: Medical Terminology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Astronomy, Botany, Zoology, and MS Science. I am certified by MId State Technical College to teach Medical Terminology. I have a Bachelor's Degree in General Science with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry from Morningside College. I also have a Master's in Teaching from Rockford College. I have Google Classroom setups for Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Medical Terminology, and Earth Science for easy transition with online tutoring through Google Meets. The online curriculum I use for Biology, Physical Science, Anatomy and Physiology, and Chemistry is called, "It's Not Rocket Science". This curriculum is aligned to Wisconsin State Standards and NGSS standards, comes with detailed lesson plans aligned to standards, has array of diversified formal and informal assessments, has online digital student packet containing everything you need for each unit, Google slides presentations for notes, and videos that go along with the presentations. The curriculum I use for Mid State is self created by me but overviewed by the college making sure it meets their standards for the course. Last, the curriculum I have for Earth Science is similar to what I use for Bio and the other classes mentioned. Google Meets will be my preferred way of tutoring, but I'm adaptable and will drive if mutually beneficial.
I am extremely confident in my ability to create positive relationships with my students and motivate them to be successful. I am a patient educator, who has a diverse repertoire of current pedagogy to reach a wide spectrum of students. Also, I have the technical setup with Google Classroom to easily meet the needs of students who need an online option that is top notch. I am looking forward to meeting my new clients.
