Experienced Physics and Math Tutor with PhD

My name is Cayla Stifler and I am a tutor with a PhD in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have been tutoring for 10 years and in that time, I have attended tutoring conferences and given presentations on best practices for teaching. I even won an award for teaching when I was a teaching assistant.
I have a passion for helping people of all ages, abilities, and skill levels understand complex math and science ideas. I especially enjoy helping those who don't see themselves as "math or science people", and working with them to find analogies and problem solving strategies that make sense for them. When a student makes an improvement, I point it out to help the student build confidence and prevent them from becoming discouraged.
