For me, helping others learn to read and understand music more deeply is the most rewarding aspect of teaching. I firmly believe that anyone can learn the skills needed to sing or play an instrument with practice and guidance.
For my voice and piano students, I focus on developing healthy technique, ear training, sight reading skills, and musical expression. After establishing proper technique, I work with each student on an individual basis to develop repertoire based on their unique musical interests and goals. My students range from beginner to advanced levels.
For sight singing students, I focus on developing music reading and ear training skills. My students range from beginner to advanced levels. For music theory, I specialize in helping students at both the high school and collegiate levels. My experience with music theory spans all of the analytical skills necessary to understand Western tonal music.
