I am passionate about working with children and helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I am a graduate of Purdue University and a hired 4th grade teacher. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of child development, learning strategies, classroom support, and how to meet students where they are.
I have over 10 years of hands-on experience working with children in a variety of educational settings. I worked as a teacher’s aide in an elementary classroom, where I supported students across subject areas, provided one-on-one help, and led small group activities. When the classroom teacher went on maternity leave, I stepped into many of her responsibilities, including managing the classroom and guiding students through daily lessons. This experience helped me learn how to adapt instruction for different learners while maintaining a structured, positive classroom environment.
Outside of the traditional classroom, I have taught dance to children ages 3–14, worked in daycare settings, volunteered with Vacation Bible School, and provided tutoring and homework help as a nanny. These experiences have taught me how to make learning engaging, creative, and approachable. I enjoy breaking material down step by step, using encouragement to build confidence, and helping students feel capable even when something feels challenging.
My tutoring approach is student-centered, patient, and consistent. I focus on helping each child understand the material while also building important skills such as organization, study habits, independence, and confidence. Parents often tell me that I have a natural way of connecting with children, and that is one of the parts of teaching I value most.
