Bio

I am a 55 year old male that has been playing chess for almost 40 years now.

I am married with two daughters. I work full time for the Racine Police Department. I recently graduated University of Wisconsin - Parkside with my Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

When it comes to chess, I think it is normally best for students to start with the endgame. The endgame is easily the most neglected phase of the game for most amateur players, so it is fairly easy to gain an edge with a little knowledge in this area.

Tactics are another area where the student would be wise to spend some time because tactics is what chess is all about.

I am an honest person and to get better at chess you need to make an honest assessment of your games. I feel I can apply that same logic as a tutor.

I have also played the game for about 40 years now. I haven't had time for tournaments for over ten years now so my USCF rating of 1750 is not up to date. But my rating on a chess website ranks me in the top 1% of players.

If you want to improve at chess and are willing to put in a little hard work, then I know I can help you become a better chess player.

I have been playing chess for almost 40 years now. I have not had time for actual tournament play for the last 10 or 15 years so my United States Chess Federation rating is not up to date. I am much stronger than my rating of 1754, I think it was. I currently play online and am rated a little over 2000 on Chess.com, which puts me in the top one percent of all players there. I believe with chess as most things in life, you need to make an honest assessment of your skills/games in order to improve your chess. If the student is willing to do the work, then I know I can help improve their game.
