Hello! I am a thirty-three year old motivated teacher with vast experience! I have had experience teaching elementary education as well as Jr. High and High School students with a variety of special needs. I've worked with all disability areas (SLD, EBD, ID, ASD, OHI, etc.) and am certified in each individually, acquiring a Master's in the Science of Education. I have a passion for music and the arts, being my school's Forensic Coach and Assistant Theater Director. In addition to art and music, I have a passion for math, phonics, grammar, science, mental health, daily living skills, study skills, social skills, stress and/or anger management, etc. I have written a variety of behavior plans and performed functional behavior assessments but strive to gain rapport with my students and having fun with them while they watch themselves reach their goals.
I have done in-home tutoring before to students with medical needs, etc. I have also taught online through Moodle to assist students' education while away from school with the main goal of getting back into that social environment. I would be honored to be invited to tutor your child in your home or, if in need of a less-distracting environment, in a public setting such as a local library. Thank you for considering me as your tutor!
I have had training the Common Core State Standards and focus on those to write individualized education plans for my students. My pre and post assessments come from the common core to prepare my students for an academic future.
My passion is music. I played the trumpet for years and have piano experience so I am able to read music. Although I do not read drum music, I am the drummer on my Worship Team and have taught others how to play the drum set without the use of sheet music. I am currently teaching myself how to play guitar but my most valuable instrument is my voice. I am also a vocalist on my Worship Team and have been hired to sing at funerals and weddings as well as volunteer at our local health care center singing and playing guitar chords. Music is in my soul and I would love to help others with this art.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have acquired degrees in Intellectual Disabilities, Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities ages 6-21. I also obtained a Master's Degree in the Science of Education.
I have been trained as an adjudicator and am the Forensics Coach in my school district. I have years of experience in theatrics, have participated in community theater, and have directed and assisted with short plays as well as 3-act musical and non-musical productions.
