Helpful Humanities Tutor for Middle, High, and College Students

Hello, my name is Elaina! I'm a History and International Studies major in undergraduate, soon to be attending graduate school for a Master's in Public Policy. I've maintained a 3.75 cumulative GPA overall during my time in university. In my courses for my majors, in history I have a 3.92 cumulative GPA, and in international studies I have a cumulative 4.0. Outside of classes, I participate in Model United Nations and study global politics, the United Nations, and practice my communication skills! While I've never been a professional tutor before, I regularly teach my team members in Model United Nations on various complex topics. Teaching material I've previously learned to my peers has been very rewarding and has increased my knowledge on these topics even more. I've also worked with elementary students in their classes, as well as first-semester college students. All of these experiences have been volunteering, but I am becoming a paid tutor at my university for a World Regional Geography class I've previously taken and succeeded in.

I'm looking to work with students who need help on specific material or topics, as I find that I can help students best that way! I'm patient and flexible when it comes to working with those who need help, as well when it comes to scheduling. When tutoring, I like to start by fully understanding topic and questions surrounding it and making sure you do as well, then coming up with a step-by-step plan to explain the material and answer any questions! I do very well in humanities related courses like history, writing, political science etc. But I also like to teach public speaking and communication skills.
