In my lessons, I use targeted prompting questions to guide students toward independently understanding the steps needed to solve problems. I excel at quickly identifying areas of weakness, such as time management, science, math skills, statistics, etc., and transforming them into strengths...

In my lessons, I use targeted prompting questions to guide students toward independently understanding the steps needed to solve problems. I excel at quickly identifying areas of weakness, such as time management, science, math skills, statistics, etc., and transforming them into strengths through tailored guided practice exercises.

I previously worked as a professional high school and college tutor while attending the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay before transitioning to Wyzant’s platform. My teaching journey has been equally diverse and rewarding for the past 6 years. I’ve guided students one-on-one through the challenges of Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Statistics, R Studio, Chemistry, Ecology, Biology, and Environmental Statistics, tailoring my approach to individual needs. Additionally, I’ve led interactive sessions for classes of 15 to 30 students, encompassing both undergraduate and graduate levels. These groups, ages 14 and older, brought a variety of perspectives that deepened my ability to engage, inspire, and adapt.

Very Helpful and Knowledgeable Tutor

Whitney is a fantastic tutor. My daughter is a HS senior taking Linear Algebra, and as her first test came up she did not feel ready. Luckily for us, Whitney turned out to be an incredible tutor. My daughter not only understood the concepts she had trouble with but also gained confidence after her session. She did very well on her test, thanks in no small part to Whitney's expert instruction. My daughter loved Whitney's lesson so much so that we booked a weekly tutoring session. Highly recommended!

Whitney worked on SAT prep with my daughter Isabella. My daughter felt really comfortable with. With her tutoring schedule running until midnight, she makes time for as many kids as she can. My daughter took her SAT today at school, she said the second part of math was really hard, and since the tests are now adaptive, I hope that means she did really well on the first part. We engaged Whitney for Calculus help for my grandson, who is a college freshman. She was terrific -- patient, clear in her explanations, knowledgeable, pro-active.
