Teaching and tutoring has always been something I enjoy doing. My teaching experience has been mostly in a preschool setting assisting school age children and pre-k. While working and teaching at Prestige Preschool, I was promoted to Director. I was able to assist teachers in prepping and planning curriculum and individualizing lesson plans to meet each child's needs.

I graduated with an elementary education degree and passed all of my certification exams. While in college, as a part of our teacher program, we tutored 4th/5th grade students in reading, virtually. We worked on specific passages and focused on fluency through multiple readings. During college I also had the opportunity to teach and tutor students in Guatemala. All these experiences and more have given me great opportunities to grow as a teacher. I have been a stay at home mom for 6 years with our 8 beautiful children ages 11 and under. I have been homeschooling our children preschool through 5th grade throughout the time I've been home. These experiences in college, professional and my home life have given me experiences and strategies working with a variety of students.

I have been tutoring through Wyzant for 3 years. In that time I have tutored preschool through 5th grade working on math, reading, phonics, letter recognition and piano.

I have studied many methods in math lessons, including some of the new methods in public schools today.

I led the kindergarten level readers during my student teaching. I created lesson plans for guided reading groups. I have a passion for one on one learning and have enjoyed teaching my own kids through many different learning styles.

I am trained in visual phonics through my elementary education degree and have taught zoo-phonics.

Overall, I have a passion for learning and teaching. A goal in my life is to instill the love of learning in my own children so they continue to be life long learners. Learning should be fun.
