I am now a retired teacher who taught Advanced Placement U.S. History at Oshkosh West High School for twenty-seven years, from the 1997-1998 school year through the 2023-2024 school year. The AP scores of my students have been consistently above the national and state averages. I also have had the opportunity to be a reader for the AP U.S. History exam six times. I have been successful at teaching students how to write essays, including the document-based question on the AP U.S. History exam. Moreover, I have been successful at getting students to master the large amount of historical content needed in an Advanced Placement U.S. History course. Given my experience in teaching both AP U.S. History and regular U.S. History, I feel I would be an excellent tutor for any student taking a U.S. History course at any level.
