Hello! Thank you for taking a look at my profile. Here's a little info about me: I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2019 with a degree in English. While in school, I was the instructor-of-record for the department's introductory to college writing course. I also worked as a tutor in UW-Milwaukee's writing center.
After graduating with my degree, I worked as an adjunct lecturer at Concordia University Wisconsin and Carroll University. I taught introductory writing courses at both universities. Currently, I am a professional writing tutor at Mt. Mary University in Milwaukee.
All in all, I have three years of experience as an English instructor and two as a professional tutor. I would love to help you in English subject areas such as writing, critical reading, grammar. During my MA program, I specialized in the study of visual culture (primarily cinema), so I can also provide assistance in this subject area.
With my experience as a tutor, I have developed a highly effective, "conversation-based" approach to tutoring. Rather than being overly directive in my comments to students, I ask them to describe what they hope to get out of their sessions and to walk me through any challenges they may be having. I try to facilitate an environment where I work WITH students to get the most of their sessions.
