Working in small groups or one on one with children has taught me that children thrive and learn with that more focused attention. I love to learn myself and when I see connections made in a student's mind, I know I have done my job and it is a great feeling. I believe it is important to have a lot of trust between teacher and student and a level of comfort and challenge. Knowing my students and their abilities and challenges helps me to use different teaching methods to foster success.

I have worked with children from pre school through 8th grade, including students with learning disabilities and emotional challenges. I find that patience and compassion go a long way toward goals we have set together. I am currently a Title 1 Reading Teacher, serving grades 4-8.
