I'm Andrew, I have a PhD in Economics from UCLA and am currently a practicing Environmental Economist. I have over 20 years of tutoring experience ranging from AP level up to introductory PhD level courses. I'm Andrew, I have a PhD in Economics from UCLA and am currently a practicing Environmental Economist. I have over 20 years of tutoring experience ranging from AP level up to introductory PhD level courses. My most commonly tutored courses include intermediate microeconomics, game theory, intermediate macroeconomics, first year PhD macroeconomics, MBA level microeconomics, environmental economics (college and MA level), and econometrics. I also have recent experience tutoring for first year PhD microeconomics, AP Macro and AP Micro, Introductory Maco and Introductory Micro, and introductory probability and statistics.

I do my best to take a student-centered approach to tutoring and I know that math heavy subjects can be particularly intimidating for some students. So I am willing and comfortable explaining concepts in a variety of ways, as many as I can find if necessary, as a part of searching for what precisely makes the material click. I frequently use real life examples and provide links to data and news articles to help make concepts more concrete and make the material accessible and understandable for my students.

For data based-work, I regularly use R and have some experience with Excel; I am unfortunately unable to help with coding using any other software, e.g. Stata, but I am happy to just talk about interpretation of results if that suits your needs.

Econometrics is my most commonly tutored subject, at the undergraduate and introductory graduate levels. I am well prepared to clarify the material no matter the level of mathematical detail or specific book used.

Macroeconomics was one of my fields in graduate school, and since then I have extensive experience using this knowledge in my research and tutoring the subject at a variety of levels. I have worked with students in AP Macroeconomics, as well as introductory intermediate and advanced courses for college, MBA and graduate school.

I have extensive experience tutoring microeconomics and game theory from introductory up to the graduate level. I have also tutored for environmental economics, as that is where my private research is focused, so I use these methods and concepts on a day-to-day basis.

Statistics is a subject I have frequent experience tutoring, both indirectly as a part of econometrics courses and directly for pure statistics courses. My most frequent subject as a teaching assistant in graduate school. Since then I have taught a course as an adjunct on the topic and tutored many students, for college and MBA level courses.
