Hi! I'm Harry, a graduate of the University of Redlands with a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Psychology. I have a strong academic background in the biological and chemical sciences, having completed extensive coursework in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Biology. I also earned a 512 on the MCAT and a 34 on the ACT. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in scientific reasoning, problem-solving, and standardized test preparation. I currently work as a Medical Assistant in family medicine and am preparing to apply to Physician Assistant (PA) school.
During my undergraduate education, I spent two years working as a peer tutor, helping fellow college students succeed in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Biology. Through individualized instruction, I helped students work through challenging concepts, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and develop more effective study habits. General Chemistry is a particular strength of mine, and I especially enjoy helping students understand the reasoning behind chemical principles rather than simply memorizing equations. My experience with the ACT and MCAT also allows me to share firsthand strategies for approaching challenging questions, managing time, and preparing effectively for standardized exams.
My tutoring philosophy centers on patience, adaptability, and genuine understanding. I recognize that every student learns differently, so I tailor my explanations and teaching methods to each student's needs. I emphasize active learning, guided practice problems, and breaking complicated concepts into manageable steps. I encourage students to ask questions freely and work toward solving problems independently. Above all, I want my students to feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their ability to succeed. Whether you're preparing for the ACT, struggling with General Chemistry, or looking to strengthen your understanding of the sciences, I'd love to help you reach your goals!
