Hello! My name is Eddie. I am a recent graduate from Saint Louis University and am doing research at Washington University in Saint Louis while applying to medical school. I graduated magna cum laude, meaning I had a final GPA above 3.70 and was on the dean's list for 3 of the 4 years of College.
I have over 3 years of Organic Chemistry tutoring experience and 2 years of experience as a teaching assistant at my university. As a tutor, I met with students online and in person and spent time looking at practice questions, note-taking, and lecture materials. Over the course of a few or many sessions with different students, I work to find gaps in learning. I would help by adding specific tools like mnemonics or pictures so the notes are strong, or by spending more time on practice questions and tackling the "why" as well as the "how." I've done this for years and tailor each lesson to the student.
As a teaching assistant, I would work with a class and lead discussion sections for groups. I am comfortable lecturing as well as tutoring for a big or small group. I would answer questions throughout the lecture and hold office hours during the evening weekly with a small group of students, typically.
