I’m a physics and science educator with a background in both secondary education and real-world problem solving. I earned a double major in Physics and Secondary Education, which shaped the way I teach: structured, guided by social justice, and grounded in how students actually learn challenging material. During my student teaching, I designed and led high school physics lessons that connected abstract concepts to everyday life, helping students see science as something they can use and understand, not just memorize. I focus on building confidence alongside content knowledge because students learn best when they feel supported and capable.
In addition to the classroom, I’ve worked with a wide range of learners in one-on-one and small group settings. I served as a teaching assistant for college physics courses and labs, where I guided students through problem-solving, lab reports, and exam prep, and I tutored middle and high school students throughout college in math and science. I’m comfortable working with learners from elementary school through adult students, and I adjust my approach based on age, goals, and learning style. Whether we’re strengthening foundational math skills, tackling physics equations, or improving study habits, I break complex ideas into manageable steps and teach students how to think through problems independently.
Professionally, I’ve also led large-scale technology implementation projects in healthcare, which sharpened my ability to explain complicated systems clearly, stay patient when concepts feel overwhelming, and tailor communication to different audiences. I bring that same calm, structured approach into tutoring. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand the “why,” develop strong study strategies, and leave each session feeling more confident than when they started.
