I earned a Bachelor of Science in Land Use Planning with a certificate in Environmental Education from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction at Western Governors University. My academic training has equipped me with a strong understanding of how students learn and how to design instruction that builds confidence and bridges gaps.
Over the past two years I have taught fourth grade in an urban Christian school, where many students entered two or more grade levels behind. In addition to full-class instruction, I regularly work one-on-one and in small groups to help students strengthen foundational skills in reading, writing, and math. I use assessments to identify where students struggle, then break skills into manageable steps, building from what they already know. My approach combines high expectations with patient guidance so that students feel both supported and challenged.
My tutoring style is practical, relational, and responsive to the needs of each learner. I draw on strategies such as scaffolding, real-world examples, and interactive practice to keep students engaged, while also maintaining a structured environment that promotes focus. I have seen firsthand how personalized support can accelerate growth, and I bring that same commitment to each tutoring session to ensure students make steady progress and gain confidence in their abilities.
