From debugging my first program in high school to mentoring junior developers today, my journey in tech has always been rooted in a deep love for learning and teaching. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Computer Programming from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and have continued building on that foundation through advanced coursework and certifications in full-stack development and software architecture. With over a decade of teaching and professional experience, I’ve developed deep expertise in JavaScript, Python, Java, TypeScript, C, and React, along with strong foundations in mathematics, including Calculus and Linear Algebra.
I have always enjoyed teaching and mentoring. While at Alverno College, I taught programming to students in grades 6–8 via Girls Who Code, focusing on JavaScript and Python. I've also led a tech minicamp for high school students entering internship programs at Northwestern Mutual, where we explored web technologies like JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS. Beyond the classroom, I regularly mentor early-career software engineers on my team, guiding them through both technical topics and essential soft skills. My work as a lead developer has helped me bring real-world insight into my teaching, helping students bridge the gap between academic learning and professional success.
My teaching philosophy is built on empathy, engagement, and empowerment. I believe that understanding the “why” behind a concept is just as important as knowing the “how.” I use a mix of theory, interactive exercises, guided projects, and personalized study plans to ensure lasting comprehension and confidence.
