Hello, I'm Linda! I am a 4th year medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and will be beginning residency this summer at MCW specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with an intern year in Internal Medicine. Hello, I'm Linda! I am a 4th year medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and will be beginning residency this summer at MCW specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with an intern year in Internal Medicine. I received my Bachelors in Arts in Linguistics (minor in Human Communication Sciences!) at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I am fortunate to have scored well on the MCAT and over the 92nd percentile on the USMLE Step 2 Exam.

During my time in medical school, I worked as a mentor and teacher of physiology to high school students interested in pursuing medicine as part of an annual summer pipeline program. In that role, I regularly taught up to 22 students in a classroom setting as well as up to to 6 students in smaller group settings, created weekly quizzes to help students study prior to graded exams, and wrote original material for the curriculum. I have also presented to local undergraduate students on MCAT best practices. I find the most joy in helping students realize that there are many innovative ways to engage in active learning; and that one size does not fit all. More than anything, it is important to find ways (even small ones) to enjoy learning!

All in all, I have just under a year of experience working as a tutor, and over three years of mentorship experience. I am comfortable with teaching a wide variety of topics related to medicine, specializing in physiology. I am also a writer and served as an editor of a school-wide narrative publication while at MCW. I have edited numerous personal statements for students applying to medical school and would be happy to assist students seeking assistance with the writing process. Lastly, I would love to help students who are interested in medicine achieve their goals by sharing tips and strategies for exam preparation!

MCAT

MCAT

Studying for the MCAT honed the exam-preparation skills that I still use today. I achieved a score of 510 on the MCAT (99th percentile CARS score) after initially scoring 495 on practice exam attempts within an 8-week dedicated study period. As a fourth-year medical student, I am qualified to tutor in the basic science subjects required for the MCAT as well as on exam preparation strategies.
USMLE

USMLE

I was fortunate enough to pass the USLME Step 1 exam on the first attempt, with practice exam percentages consistently in the 80s prior to taking the exam. I also scored a 266 on my USMLE Step 2 Exam with a four-week dedicated study period. With these qualifications, I would be happy to tutor students and help them identify ideal study strategies and preferred resources in order to succeed similarly on these important exams.
