I am a recently retired Financial Advisor (retired 9/30/2015) after 27 years. I have a working knowledge, conceptual understanding and academic knowledge of Finance, Economics and Accounting. My career as a Financial Advisor / Stockbroker required a constant educational update and research of all subjects pertaining to Financial Markets, Economic events, trends and business conditions ---- both micro (individual companies and industries) and macro outlook (national and global economic analysis).
For 27 years as a Financial Advisor, I communicated with individuals, couples and small business owners that possessed all levels of financial and economic literacy. My communication skills are excellent, verbal, written and public speaking.
I recently from November 2015 to April 2016 volunteered as a "tutor / mentor" for at-risk high school students, sharpening my skills dealing with youth. I am the father of 3 adult children that all graduated from college.
I have been a student of business since my high school days, I am skilled in understanding why some companies fail and others thrive. My total business career of 37 years has spanned across many industries and business types. I have a

I have an exceptional memory and recall abilities of events. I also am very good at "sequencing" events in time and how they are connected. In addition I am very good at analyzing what is "an important event," and why /how it effects history.
Since childhood I have have been a "history buff," "student of history." The last book I read was "Wilson" a biography of President Woodrow Wilson. I currently am reading "Boy's in the Boat", the 1936 U.S. Olympic Rowing Team story.
I am not your "normal" 60 year old retired teacher ---- I have never been a teacher ---- I think learning is FUN and it should be "enjoyable" for both the student and the tutor. I am approachable, easy to talk with, I do not think there is ever a stupid question and I will take as much joy from helping you "Ace" a class, as you doing earning that good grade! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
