I bring an energetic, real-world perspective to teaching shaped by both my academic journey and experiences beyond the classroom. As a Division I track and field and cross country athlete, I’ve developed discipline, resilience, and goal-setting strategies that I actively integrate into my teaching style. I am majoring in Broadfield Social Studies and History, with minors in Political Science, International Studies, and Psychology, giving me an interdisciplinary lens that helps students see meaningful connections across content areas. My internship at the United Nations, along with my time teaching in New York City before relocating to Wisconsin, has allowed me to work with diverse learners and bring global perspectives directly into my lessons.
My teaching experience includes both classroom and one-on-one settings, working primarily with middle and high school students. I have taught AP Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Current Issues, and World History, and I intentionally adapt my approach depending on the subject and student needs. In AP Psychology, I prioritize engaging and authentic strategies that help students truly retain content for the exam, incorporating real-life application, storytelling, and structured review. I also emphasize AP skills such as scientific practices and literacy skills, guiding students in analyzing research, interpreting data, and clearly communicating their thinking.
What defines my teaching most is my focus on inquiry and student voice. In World History and other courses, I design student-led, discussion-based lessons that broaden perspectives and encourage critical thinking. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, think deeply, and make meaningful connections that extend far beyond the classroom.
