Hi, I'm Tony G., and I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Thermodynamics. I was a Teaching Assistant there for Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, and was selected by students as the Teaching Assistant of the year back-to-back years. I was the instructor of record for a Thermodynamics course as a graduate student, and I currently hold the record for the highest student survey rating for any lecturer in this subject in UW-Madison's history. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with honors, where I tutored Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer as a tutor certified by the College Reading and Learning Association.

I love teaching and tutoring, and one day aspire to be a professor at the university level. I have experience tutoring both in-person and online. My favorite subjects to tutor are Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, but I can also cover other mechanical engineering subjects such as fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, physics, MATLAB, and calculus. Currently, due to high demand, I am only tutoring Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer.

I am extremely passionate about the subjects I study. I love learning, but even more, I love helping others learn. Please feel free to reach out to discuss scheduling a lesson. I look forward to helping you reach your learning potential!

Approved Subjects

MATLAB

MATLAB

MATLAB has been a valuable tool in my research projects and I use it nearly every day. I have experience programming simulations of mechanical engineering systems in a variety of disciplines such as thermal sciences, fluid mechanics, automatic control systems, and mechanics of materials. I am capable of helping with everything from the fundamentals of programming logic and syntax in MATLAB to mathematical modeling and MATLAB applications to physical systems.

Table Tennis

Table Tennis

I started playing Table Tennis in high school, where I was coached by the former third highest-ranked player in state. I ascended to the top spot on my team by my junior year, and led my team to second place in state. I have experience playing against top-level competition including the Wisconsin state champion. In college, I founded an NCTTA level team. I am capable of coaching students in serving, smashing, looping, pushing, chopping, blocking, and strategy for both singles and doubles.

Knowledgeable. Patient. Helpful. Brilliant.

Tony is a brilliant tutor. He understands his material really well and adapts to the student's needs and methods to make sure they understand the material profoundly. He challenges students to think outside the box and encourages them to ask all the questions needed to understand the material. He is readily available and will always go above and beyond for his students. If you need someone to help you with all things engineering, Tony's your guy.

Very helpful!

Great help with conceptual explanations as well as problem solving. Allows you to solve the problem yourself but guides you by asking relevant or helpful questions.
